"“I’m kind of on a honeymoon right now with this bride [after winning the national championship].” There’s an Evan Daniels joke in there somewhere."

What would an Evan Daniels joke sound like?

"a 22-game SEC card where there is a true round-robin schedule would really be exciting, but that won’t happen. Number one, it would squeeze some great non-conference games off a schedule, not to mention cutting cupcakes from coaching viewpoint."

Kindly difficult for me to imagine any more of a cupcake schedule than to get to play 12-14 games a year against the dregs of the SEC...

OKC's breakdown last night was kinda painful to watch. Kinda felt bad for Durant and Westbrook, but they're young and that type of collapse will probably be a lesson that they'll carry with them for the rest of their careers. Painful now, but will pay dividends in the future. Kinda like Carolina's loss to UK in the tourny. No way that shit happens again, either UK playing out of their freaking minds or us playing like shit. That was basically the only combination that would've yielded a UK win, and even then, we still had a chance to win. Too bad UK didn't play us like they played UConne. Even as shitty as we played, we would've won by 20. Next year we will. In Rupp and, hopefully, an even more brutal destruction in the tourny...

I don't see how UNC is going to win when we foul out 4 of your guys in the first half

How closely I follow the NBA... I thought the Thunder were still playing Memphis and Hedge was saying they collapsed in a game seven (I had seen most of the Tunder/Grizz game one and assumed that the Grizz were going to win that series). No idea that they had played 4 games in the next series already. NBA... its faaaaaaaaaan-tastic!

"Too bad UK didn't play us like they played UConne."

maybe roy ought not devote all of his practice time to offense (i know, i know; he might have to cut out his smarmy little disparaging remarks @ wisky's program if he did that)...you mighta given yourselves a chance if you'd played us like uconne did (that is to say, played like there's 2 ends of the court and defense matters)

That's a fair argument, but then again, Ohio State was probably even better defensively than UConn. Better at both ends really. But the difference in those two games mostly boiled down to Kentucky's performance.

"I had seen most of the Tunder/Grizz game"

Were you writing that with the accent of Noonan's girlfriend in Caddyshack?

"you mighta given yourselves a chance if you'd played us like uconne did"

You mean shoot 1-12 from behind the arc? We did that and still almost won. UConne did that and did win. The point is, UK sucks. It took their best game to beat our shitty game, and even UConn's shitty game beat UK's shitty game. It was just a shitty Final Four all the way around. Shitty games, shitty teams, shitty fans. Shitty, shitty, shitty....

no...the point is that unc's defense sucks, rendering them incapable of grinding out a win against a similarly talented team because they lack the grit and work ethic required to play 40 minutes of hardnosed ball (i think it's called the "carolina way", and dates back to civil war days and battlefield performance...)

It is riff-raff. But rift raft is kinda cute. It suggests floating around aimlessly. :)

I've heard dhe's a writer, she doesn't know how to spell or use words in common sayings, apparently.

she didn't look bad as young woman, heck, she has to be pushing 60 right?

plus, she is the ultimate status wife - marrying a Kennedy? Arnold married a name with a vagina. Looks didn't enter into the equation.

I'm very proud of my poor spelling.

After all, many of histories' greatest authors didn't spill well.

Even Jane Austin was known for her creative ordering of letters.

Sadly, and I'm almost ashamed to admit this, many of my misspellings are actually the result of carelessness or poor typing - they're not really spelling errors at all. But as aggie knows, I do sometimes make incredible or bizarre mistakes like confusing "row" and "roll."

Truth is, if you grade writing according to the proper placement of commas, spelling and other conventions, a lot of people write better than I do. But do they have anything interesting to say? Can they say it in an interesting way? Are they provocative or challenging? Are their ideas cleverly conceived and vividly presented?

Your second grade teacher was wrong, aggie; good writing isn't about spelling or commas, it's about ideas. Luckily, I have more than my share of those.

I think I do. But then, I was born to an inflated ego people. :)
