I'm curious who the east division protected game will be. And with an 8 game schedule, about twice a decade is correct. As it stands now, Florida rotated on and off our schedule in 05 and 06, then on and off again in 10 and 11. Throw in Mizzou and I guess you can add two more seasons. I wonder about the 9 game conference schedule myself.

The east protected game for A&M will be Missouri.

Figured that... wondered if they'd try to shuffle a couple around and make it Arkansas.

Very likely the status quo would be maintained, making cross-division non-protected matchups occur twice every 12 years (instead of the current twice every 5 years). Adding a 9th conference game would reduce that to twice every 6 years, but good luck. That would mean schools would give up the always-at-home greed game they added a few years ago.

Arkie would make a good cross game for Mizzou, but then you have to shift Carolina to TexAM, so you're just trading one long-distance haul for another.

Arkansas should play Missouri. Nobody at Texas A&M ever gave two shits about Missouri or Kansas or Kansas State, or any of those fucking schools, and we've played them a grand total of twelve times all time. Missouri only cares because its their last remaining chance to keep playing a game in Texas.

I don't really care about South Carolina honestly either, but it seems ridiculous to add Missouri and then not have them play Arkansas.

It will be TAMU-Mizzou as the annual cross-divisional game for those two schools. It causes the least disruption to the schedule.

And, it pisses you off. Consider it Phase One Initiation. Phase Two will involve getting beat down.

Pisses me off? The only emotion I have for Missouri is apathy. What does piss me off is that I continue to see the same bullshit in the media about how we are leaving tradition blah blah blah as if the Big 12 is some fucking big happy family since teh dawn of college football. Its the Big 12...our traditional conference was the SWC. It was a mistake to ever get involved with the Big 12 in the first fucking place. It sucks that Texas doesnt want to play us, sure, but acting like not playing Baylor or Tech is going to be any tougher than not playing Rice, TCU, SMU, Houston is laughable.

I'm suprised today by something that seems to indicate that the part of the rumor where Sherman might get fired is actually true. On a premium thread at texags.com today a guy got pissed off, apparently because President Loftin and some advisors (read Jackie Sherrill, Gene Stallings, also considered to be on the Kirby Smart train) really are considering firing sherman and apparently this guy thought it was an athletic department issue and that only the athletic department should be allowed to make any decisions, etc.

So it turns out that someone digs up a post about A&M's finances where the same guy claims to be our athletic department CFO (Jeff Toole), so now it seems like there really is something going on and that this guy within the AD is pissed off about it.

Then to top it off, obviously posters go back and search all of this guys previous posts, and it turns out that he has been trashing President Loftin for the past year when he was anonymous. Calling him a puppet and incompetent but also things like moron, buffoon, and a putz. So naturally all hell breaks loose, and threads start disappearing and this guy starts editing all his posts. Some people saved screenshots of the posts and claim to be sending them to Loftins email address...assuming it really is him, I dont get how someone can be so dumb.

LMAO

You have won five in a row, and yet you are still bitter about 2004. That warms my heart.

Jim Knight attended NC State, iirc.

FYI, his knee was down. Even NC State's own sideline reporter said so directly following the play.

Ha...this guy might also post at texags. There is a Texas fan that always talks about officiating decisions named JTurner on texags who people have now realized matches up with this fucking ref.
