Regardless, this is the least shocking "big story" of the off-season. It was pretty much expected that Tressel would have to let it go. Too much on his plate that he coudln't explain or charisma away. It's a shame, though. I think he's probably a decent guy and obviously a good head coach. And he had finally beaten an SEC team in a BCS bowl.

Oh well. It's not like tOSU is Kansas or some shit. They'll be able to pull from a long list of compelling candidates.

Depends on how far the university distances itself from the vest. Is he taking.the bullet to avoid bigger sanctions? I'm betting yes.

Love to hear DSL and Talent explain this. About 3 months ago I posted that Tressel was toast and both laughed it off.

Heh.

I admittedly don't care much about this. So I haven't kept up on all of the details. But I always thought it sounded like it had the potential to be very bad for OSU. And so I found it interesting that certain Buckeye fans kept assuring everyone that it was all much ado about nothing and would all blow over in time. Just whistling past the graveyard, maybe?

I also think it's remarkable how many times you hear Tressel described as a nice guy or a good man. I realize that this is his public persona -- the way has been represented by himself and others. But if he really isn't a cheating dirtbag, then he must be one of the dumbest sumbitches ever to coach CFB. IMO, he's either a good and decent moral idiot, who tried to do things the right way and was just too stupid to make appropriate decisions -- or he's just a dirty coach who thought he could cheat and get away with it. And, IMO, there are a lot more of the latter than there are the former.

You first.

I envision a prison yard with about twenty heavily muscled murderers and rapists, all lusting after your soft white flesh.

Almost makes you homesick, doesn't it?

Along the same lines...25 schools are starting up football programs between 2011 and 2014

Besides Charlotte, the most significant is UT-San Antonio, which is supposed to join the WAC as early as 2012. Charlotte, Stetson, Kennesaw State, and Mercer are the additions to FCS

Ava Maria is that conservative catholic university funded by the Domino's guy. Guess he wants some football in his stepford community he's built down there.

Concordia University (Ann Arbor, Mich.) Good luck with that.

No Wright State. Fucking pussies. C'mon collegiate indoor football!
