Watching "Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer."

It's really good shit. I was totally unaware how much of it was set up and playing politics. I recommend it.

Over the last month or two, I finally watched the whole series for The Wire.

If I could only go back to World X, I would now get all of those references.

I saw the movie Cedar Rapids before I ever had watched an episode so I thought he must actually have played Omar. Little did I know I'd just been watching the real Omar, playing Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire.

It really was amazing how they covered so many characters and fleshed them all out. Amazing job by the writers and amazing acting. I had no idea that Dominic West and Idris Elba are both British.

I also found out that I was a stand-in for 3 or 4 of the actors on the show (none of whom I look like) when they appeared on episodes of Unforgettable.

and maybe Chris Bauer. Chris was in the first episode we shot and I can't recall if he only worked days that the primary guy I stood in for worked. I think I was his stand-in for a bit but I'm not 100% sure.

Ah, so in the fictional Baltimore world:

Homicide Detective who worked with Bunk, but didn't have any real story line
Gus the Editor (and director of many episodes in the first season...loved using building cameras for shots, with no direct tie to the content of the scene)
Marimow, the guy who was a good Baltimore PD soldier designed to put a damper on the out of control ways of Daniels' team

Nah, I'm not in the film industry. My hustle is finance. However, my best friend does the Hollywood thing and one of my other buddies from my crew is an actor. It's a tough business. To me, it seems to consist of mostly strike outs and singles...and, if you're lucky, an occasional home run. I don't know what would ever constitute doubles or triples.

So is coal mining...

True...black lung disease vs. cocaine addiction, teeth grinding and a trip to Dr. Drew is a no-contest win for the miners, though.
