State has only made the NCAA Tournament five times in twenty years, and they ran that coach off.

They have a NC in basketball. That makes them a good team in the SEC.

A title from 28 years ago and another one from 37 years ago makes State a good team in the SEC? It gives them more history than everyone but UK, but it doesn't make them a good team. They would be a middle of the pack team in the SEC.

You're usually much quicker AA. I understand they're like the offspring of an Auburn/Texas marriage.

Change Auburn to Mississippi State and you're spot on...

I expect we'll know something fairly definite re: expansion or not by the time this season starts.

9 of the 12 SEC teams receive mentions in the AP poll:
Alabama is No. 2. The Crimson Tide received 17 first-place votes. LSU was No. 4 and received one first-place vote.

Also ranked were South Carolina at No. 12, Arkansas at No. 15, Georgia at No. 19, Mississippi State at No. 20, Florida at No. 22 and Auburn at No. 23.
Tennessee was in the 'others receiving votes' catagory' at 39th.

I don't know if this has been posted here before or not but you gotta just laugh at the fact that tOSU now has officially NEVER beaten an SEC team in a bowl game.

Right where they belong.

What are they now 0-13 or some such?

The SEC needs to add Oklahoma, A&M, SMU and Miami...then those 4 teams along with Bama, Tennessee, Florida and Mississippi State can be the Cheaters Division...
