While I hate the initial stage where you are broke for a few months trying to build back up your savings, buying a house is an exciting time. There was a period where I bought 3 houses in 4 years. I won't ever try to do that again.

well, if I can sell my house for what it's worth (not much even in this sad market), we hopefully will be full owners within 5-7 years. I've got a little set aside for getting current house ready for market and making some repairs on new one, plus holding onto a bit until tax time next spring. my biggest problem is keeping my wife from going on a craigslist buying spree for used furniture.
