When did it become cool for a foreign owned company to tell us that if you support the troops or are a real American you should buy our cars?

I'd be shocked if Chrysler/Jeep have even one factory or assembly line in the south. Unless by "south" you mean Mexico.

If the American farmer buys a dodge its because its all he can afford.

Rough week for me watching the daily show - most of the time I can see where John Stewart is coming from and can understand why he is making people look like jackasses.

This week he took a page from Fox News on slanting gun control, women in combat and immigration.

That sniper story is wacky. Guy could kill a raghead 21 football fields away.

I worked a lot this week (meaning I was in my office until 10, 11, 2am all week), so I did not see a lot of his show. However, I will say, keep in mind that Stewart is extremely smart but at the end of the day he is still a liberal from New Jersey whose staff is filled with a bunch of liberal comedy writers from Yale, Brown and Harvard. He won't accept a lot midwestern cultural realities.

Again, I didn't watch much this week, so I'm speaking strictly from 30,000 feet.

its kinds of interesting that the sniper has become glorified in the military over the years. Up and well past WWII the sniper was considered a more cowardice position - shooting the enemy from a distance behind the safety of cover. They were also the most reviled enemy of the infantryman.

A guy named Carlos Hathcock took it to a new level in Vietnam when he switched over from the .308 and started using a .50 caliber bullet. He started recording shots at distances of almost a mile away and it became legend , and disconnected, much like a plane bombing a village from 30,000 feet. The Vietnamese put a bounty on him, and eventually brought in their own sniper to stalk him. His story of shooting the sniper through his own scope has been replayed in a couple of movies - one was loosely based on his exploits with Tom Berringer.

Everyone who shoots gets into it, I have a very high end scope made by an off shoot of Tasco of all companies (they are known for junk but they recently won the contract to make high end sniper scopes) and at some point on the gun range we always see who can shoot the closest groupings

but my dad, a WWII vet, would have been ashamed of any of his sons that ever wanted to do that in the military.

yea and I get that, but it just seems dishonest to dog Fox News at least once a week for doing the same thing he did this week.I guess I never cared about him dogging Fox because I felt they deserved it.

That's the sound of a raghead taking one to the noggin from 600 yards.

Al Gore is even getting backlash from the more friendlier confines.

It appears no one is happy about this move

I know this won't make some happy but damn, Ron Paul just says what he believes.

Here is his twitter regarding the sniper that got shot

"Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense"
