Why do they keep running into the spout if they know what's going to happen?

The covid is going around again. Members of 3 branches of my fambly who have not been in contact with each other have tested positive in the past few days. Kept us from all getting together for Christmas for the 3rd year in a row. My brother tested positive on Christmas after attending a party with his wife's extended family earlier in the week. One of her sisters that was at the party texted everybody that she had tested positive which was the only reason my brother tested himself. He never felt bad and still doesn't. Nobody else in his immediate family has tested positive and they were all at the same party and then around my brother for days after that. My aunt tested positive (she's 83) but her husband has not (he's 88), nor her kids or grandchildren (they were all together Christmas Eve). My step-daughter texted us yesterday morning that she tested positive but her husband has not nor has anyone in our immediate fam, and we were all together on Christmas and the day after. The MIF is pissed at her, though, b/c she said she felt bad the morning after Christmas but her and her dimwit husband stayed at our house all that day and spent the night rather than just leaving immediately like any normal people would've done, but they're idiots...

i tested positive for covid the first time ever last week after flying back from Connecticut. No awful systems, just realized I couldn't taste anything and decided to take one of those home tests, which said I was positive. tested again the next day, still positive. Tested Christmas eve and said negative. That gave me the green light to attend family gatherings.

a friend of mine is an avid golfer. The summer after covid hit, another friend called her up to go play a round. At the end of the round, the friend told her that she had the symptom of covid and didn't want to get tested. Of course my friend caught it and it kicked her ass.

She has completely lost her ability to taste food and has since converted to being a vegetarian. She says what is the point to eat meat if it all tastes like cardboard to her.

I only know this now because she is in charge of our menu for a week long event in a few months.

Not sure of the wisdom in that decision.
