Parkinsons and depression led to his suicide. Not booze or drugs.

I agree with hedge and rat. I believe he was genuinely depressed. And maybe even broke (what with the divorces and the large alimony payments.)

When I was reading on the internet about all the conspiracy theories that Williams died in a sexual act (auto-erotic asphyxiation) that he was strangling himself while he masturbated (and went just a little too far), I thought that was all bullshit. I still do. I think he was depressed. He tried to slit his wrists. And when that didn't work, he hung himself. I don't think drugs or sex had anything to do with his death.

He wasn't broke..

I spent a month with my mom recently and every evening at 5pm she would watch Jeopardy , a mix of Trebek reruns and the people that were trying out to replace them. I did get to see Aaron Rogers host.

I'm not a fan of Jeopardy and worse, I've watched more of SNL celebrity jeopardy than I have the real jeopardy. She didn't understand why I got pleasure out of the people who would continually answer wrong and end up with negative numbers but that was the only time I"d pay attention.
