I would like to thank the Alabama fan for educating us on the benefits of the pell grant to our nation's youth and the abuses thereof....

He would've just cheated more if they'd let him go to Spain! El Cheato!

The records also show that Kupec and Hansbrough flew on Medical Air planes at least three times to places where Hansbrough’s son, Ben, was playing basketball for Notre Dame. The university’s development office paid $5,220 to Medical Air Inc. for the use of the private planes for those trips, which were to Louisville, Ky.; New York; and Morgantown, W.Va.

Wow, I guess Carolina needs to be held accountable for ensuring Ben Hansbrow's senior year at Notre Dame. Or something like that...

Well, four people at U*Nc have lost their jobs over so, yeah, U*NC is being held accountable. Funny how that works. You do stupid illegal shit and you get in trouble and face consequences.

ok set aside this is UK and just imagine what it is like to be a basketball fan going to a fantasy camp. I'd never be interested in doing it but it reads like an amazing experience

Easy to fire administration folk. Impossible to fire professors implicit to the scandals.

U*NC hasn't fired anybody. Blake was allowed to resign and collect the remainder of the salary of his contract, Butch was let go "without cause" and paid $2.7mil, Crowder was already retired, Baddour simply moved up his retirement as AD and was given another position in the school, Na"garyo lost his position as Dean but retired with full benefits, Kupec, Thorpe and Handsnblow all resigned, etc.

I thought this was interesting (and maybe UK fans would have a different take). Logan Lee, former A&M basketball player, UK staff member and texags.com basketball analyst with his take on the Gillispie stuff going on at Texas tech

Billy Gillispie owes Acie Law several million dollars. He has been his get out of jail card for Gillispie for the past 6 years.

Anytime Gillispie is questioned about the 50 or so other kids that have tanked in his program, someone always brings up "but look what he did with Acie Law!" and that is supposed to wipe the slate clean.

Whether people think kids should be tougher or not, they are pampered or whatever is irrelevant. Gillispie has had at least two teams quit on him and has ruined the basketball lives of multiple players because he is a horses ass. There are some kids that come out better for their time with him but they are the minority.

saying at least 2 was meant to emphasize how absurd it is to put any trust in the mans ability to coach.

http://www.charlotteobserver.c...tes-purvis.html

So a High School has to be able to produce all of this information, yet U*NC not so much...

"In order to get clearance from the NCAA Eligibility Center, Purvis needed to provide extensive paperwork for each of the core courses required by the NCAA. That meant rounding up four years worth of syllabi, class assignments, and textbook information for the 16 core classes, hence the protracted length of the process."

It's not like Baddour moved his retirement up by several years. He moved it up several months. They allowed him to serve the remaining months of his contract in a faculty position because he had dedicated over forty [40] years of his professional life to the university.

Kupec and Hansbrough aren't part of any athletic dept misdeeds. not that it matters to Augie once he's leveled and aimed his blunderbuss

Level it? Hell, he doesn't even mind shooting himself in a foot a time or two...
