maybe 1 in 4 without a scope.

If you want a great gun to shoot without a scope, you should look at Savage 99's. I love that gun.

I have an old Winchester 94 lever-action 30-30 without a scope. If I can see it, I can hit it with that rifle. Great gun.

I love lever action guns. We call them the cowboy assault rifle

also, I have a crazy accurate gun - its a Swiss K31. I think I only paid like $300 for it and that was for one with a walnut stock (I think they are mostly birch).

The Swiss can make a great gun.

The Swiss love their guns.

What's funny is the Florida State thread is now morphing into Gun Talk.

I have a M1a Scout that looks like this:

You can mod them to look like an assualt rifle, though.

The top one will still be legal in a few months. The bottom one, not so much. Same gun except for the (mostly cosmetic) modifications.

Is that a .308? I'd LOVE to have that one (on top...the bottom, not so much)

I wonder about the mini-14 - wasn't that on the list? I know they have a rancher model that is pretty benign. I do have a stack of 20 round clips for it though.

the government buying ammo just didn't happen, the stocking up has been planned for awhile.

making sure they have ammo on hand when something causes a run on it from the general public? like banning the Bushmaster?

aTm,

Every gun I have is legal, and was legal under the 1994 (cosmetic) restrictions.

If they enact restrictions for the weapons I currently own, then they were all unfortunately stolen, lost, or destroyed in a small grease fire in my hunting cabin.

Honest!

ummm....errrr....ummmm...yea...mine too!

Two guns I'm looking for now - the Howa I mentioned earlier and a Pre-1974 Marlin 336 in .357/.38. That one is going to set me back. I don't even know what they cost now. The Howa is $550 at Buds Gun Shop. I'm just waiting to make it down there to get one.

I like the CZ but the Howa is just a better value - the Japanese have that gun dialed in.

Heh. Yeah, I've seen your pics.

Pistol grip and bayonet mount? DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE BANNED!

Pistol grip and no bayonet mount? safe and acceptable, citizen....carry on.

yea, thats right - the mini-14 is ok ...UNLESS you get the tactical version with the ATI stock. Because nothing says "buy me and kill people" to a crazy person like a plastic adjustable stock.

Pivoting from guns, let's go for something less controvesial.
