Won't have any effect on Cleveland. Cleveland was named Brown. Redskins was named for a derogatory term that was derogatory at the time it was first used.

Oh, you meant the Indians. Nevermind.

that cross by ronaldowas a kick in the gut. sets up much angst and consternation if ghana and germany win thursday

pretty cool the huge crowds wathing in NYC/chicago and KC last night

the other killer pay last night was the open net I think kramer? had with only a defenseman there and kramer kicks it in the 1% area the defenseman could block a goal

He never looked up. He thought he had a chippy and kept his eye on the ball. If he had that shot 10 more times he would have hit it 10 out of 10.

It's the kind of play a confident player makes and one who isn't as confident can miss. Bradley has been a bit below his normal level, combined with the fact that we were down a goal adding pressure to the shot, and he's just keeping his eye on the ball and getting the ball on frame. Someone who was feeling confidence or buoyed by the confidence of being ahead in the game might have looked around, saw the defender coming and had the confidence to put it away either side of the defender.

Dempsey's goal was similar, someone too eager to think "go, go, go we've got to score here, Ive got to put this in" probably gets overeager and drawn offside but he's more confident, already scored in the tournament and we had already equalized in the game and he took his time and knew the last Portugal defender was slow getting up, and he even peeks back at him to time his run before getting it perfect and chesting the ball in.

Bradley is mostly getting killed because of his turnover (a turnover 70 yards away from the goal) at the end of the game, but it really wasn't a mental mistake there, as much as a physical one. He didn't dally on the ball, he actually has a physical error, a bad first touch when he tries to trap the ball and it gets away from him instead of settling at his feet in space. Then when he finally got back to the ball he arrives only just as the Portuguese player did and got dispossessed. In the 95th minute that thing can happen, he just didn't get a clean touch on it. If he made a mental mistake it was being a little naïve when shielding the ball. A player from most other countries would've fallen down right when the Portuguese player got to him while shielding the ball. I think its better than 50/50 he gets a foul call by flopping and the game is killed off.

Why do these pussies only play once a week? And WTF is up with no overtime or sudden death? It's a sad day when America is happy with a tie.

I blame the legalization of gay marriage for this and every kid getting a trophy just for playing.

No way America is happy with the tie. It's going to be what sends us home early. Germany will win the whole thing.

I will say, as far as soccer games go, that one was one that any casual fan would have enjoyed from start to finish.

so if we win against germany we get russia or some other weak team

if we tie or lose we get belgium which is supposed to be good

if we lose and ghana wins we r toast

should be easy to tell if both germany and usa tank for a tie I would think

25 Million watched the game...and it will all go back to passive/ambivalent interest if that game was the last great showing we have in the tourney.

Is Jozy going to be able to play Thursday?

That sucks. I have Germany winning the whole thing. We can't afford any thinness of our roster.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.
