"and then people on the street realizing that if you crush it up you can get the complete high snorting it."
Yeah, that took about 5 minutes to figure that out. They've now developed a new method (wax matrix) that you can't crush up or melt, that would've probably saved Purdue a lot of trouble if they'd figured that out from the start. The so-called time release shit they originally put out was just some bullshit thin coating that you could scrap off with the edge of a knife in less than a minute...

a good read about Bob Ross turning into an empire 25 years after his death and the lawsuits/family bickering that began shortly after his death
There was a documentary on tv a year ago about him. His original paintings he did during the episodes are still housed in a warehouse owned by the Kowalskis. Not sure why they aren't capitalizing by selling those.

He wasn't a bad guy but the cheating on his wife, driving a corvette, drinking scotch image doesn't fit his TV persona very well.
He's like the guy in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood that owns a pit bull.

I am Gen-X. We have had more impact on culture than most of the world thinks.
our military members fought in TWO wars in Iraq (as super young enlisted kids in 1991 and as young officers in 2003)
Our people were the plurality of the employees during the Dot-Bomb crisis in early 2001
Our people were the plurality of the employees during the housing crisis of 2008
Our oldest members gave the world FRIENDS 27 years ago (which has recently been given re-birth)
Our youngest members were graduating college when the WTC towers were struck by jet aircraft
our generation brought back disco and bell bottoms for one whole year in 1992 (which gave re-birth to night clubbing)
Our generation gave Starbucks and Dutch Bros to the Millennials, not the other way around
Our generation gave the world the internet
Our generation gave the world the belief in carbon caused climate change (for good or for bad)
Boomer gave the world the shitty Apple products. Gen-X gave the world the really cool Apple products
Boomers prosecuted OJ and failed. Our generation were the ones who charged, prosecuted, and convicted Aunt Becky and the other millionaires from Operation Varsity Blues, the generation that will prosecute and convict Ghislaine Maxwell (and ALL the Johns she is protecting) and prosecute and convict Elizabeth Holmes for her Millennial ponzi-scheme

Gen X did not give the world the internet, that was being developed by people in the 60's and 70's, most of whom were dropping acid...
What birth year started Gen X anyway?

Greatest Generation: Born 1901 to 1927
Silent Generation: Born 1928 to 1945
Baby Boomers: Born 1946 to 1964
Generation-X (of which I am a proud member): Born 1965 to 1980
Millennials: Born 1981 to 1996
Gen-Z (the children of Gen-X): Born 1997 to 2010 (or so)
I think 27 years is too long a period for the Greatest Generation, but whatever. It is what it is.
