From the article:

"As we painstakingly considered where to live, my wife fielded off-putting warnings about Hartford from well-meaning friends: “You know what they say when you cross the line...”"

What do they say when you cross the line?

Once you go Black neighborhood, you lose a bit of your civil rights, your chance at persistent property value increases, decent public schools or good sushi.

I'm paraphrasing.

I can live with all of that. Except the lack of good sushi...

Zac Efron recently got into a thing in a bad area of LA. He said he was looking for sushi. Friends, cops don't seem to believe him.

I hear Skid Row, after midnight, during the week, is the place to go for great sushi.

(well done article that is not quite indicting of police, but showcases a lot of the struggles from a racial perspective...the thing is, those who should read it probably won't because it deals with race)
I married a West Hartford girl. Her family are more racist than anyone I've met in the South.

What's the old saw about the difference b/w northern and southern racism? In the south they hate the race but love the individual, in the north they love the race but hate the individual. Something like that...

In West Hartford they love the race, but hate the snow shovelers.

Can a cop arrest somebody out of their jurisdiction? Maybe neighboring jurisdictions have some kind of agreements with each other in case somebody is speeding and crosses the town line before the cop can stop him. But the first thing that stood out to me was that the guy wasn't even a cop of that township (or whatever you call the jurisdiction area). I would've told the guy to fuck off and go back to his own town if he wanted to harass some citizens...

Yes they can.... You can even make a 'citizen's arrest' like Goober did on Barney, but I wouldn't advise it especially if the guy is much bigger than you.

Somebody posted that in the football forum, rickert asked where does one hide crab legs, I replied "In his pants, that way if he gets caught, he can say, 'Naw, I got them crabs from that girl I raped"...

If you're hungry, why crab legs? That don't fill you up.
