Some are questioning the 16 year old Chinese swimmer who set the world record, her time at the end was faster than the best men in the sport

She is the current world champion I think, but she shaved like 5 seconds off her time. I think a lot of people assume she's doped. Her final freestyle split (the last 100 M) was 0.03 off of Lochte's and was faster than 3 of the men's finalists. I guess 16 year old Chinese girls just have incredible endurance.
Tsk tsk, Owlman.

admittedly I don't think it was a good move for Romney to go to England and shit on the olympic organizers but from what I've been reading, he was right.

There seems to be a host of problems, the latest of which is empty stadiums while people needing tickets are turned away.

Yep, but you let others discuss it...you don't do it while you're there for (effectively) a diplomatic visit. The issue isn't with the content of his comments, it's the timing of them. Both parts are important when you're a head of state.

All that said, this also falls into "the glittery objects of Summer" items I always talk about with regard to national politics. No one will remember that by the time the convention rolls around. After that spectacle (when he can finally start to spend all that Wall Street money he's been collecting all Summer but is not allowed to touch right now), it gets serious. If Romney ever has a shot, he better tighten his playbook up by then.

If they wanted to get technical, they should have had that guy light the cherry picker off the old flame, moved the cauldron, then had it relit.

I see why the British Empire took a knee.

Must admit Laettner is a good sport about it... even if he is a dookie.

LOL @ the two Mr. Irrelevants on Olympic NBA teams.

Hopefully, The Brow's career plays out a bit stronger than Laettner's.

Damnit. I hate that fuckface. I will hate Laettner until I die.

How did Laettner afford the airfare to London? I would have thought that the horde of creditors after him would have tied up all of his assets.

I didnt think Laettner was allowed to leave his home county, much less the country.

How could Laettner have mistaken the two? Was The Brown bent over with his asscheeks spread?

That badminton controversy is pretty funny.

I can understand why people are upset but if you create an environment where losing early gives you an advantage then you can't blame the players for attempting to maximize their chances to win gold.
