UK is slobbering over a kid named Andrew Wiggins. I think he is class of 2014 and people are saying he is better than any kid we've had to date.

Wiggins is seriously considering reclassifying himself to the 2013 class, he is completely murdering all competition

There's a sick behind the back 360 dunk at the 40 second mark, never seen it done before

Wiggins looks strong, but I've nothing in the way of footwork from him. At 6'7", I need to see some open floor handles and the form on his jump shot.

he has all of that, his handles & first step are elite and he has a pull up J that he drops consistently.... problem is the kids that make these youtube mixes really have no clue how to edit and make proper video showcasing the skills that really translate to D1 basketball

they all go for the dunks & the AND-1 highlights

even though the J is there this kid attacks the hoop relentlessly, probably the best comparison is an uber athletic Kidd-Gilchrist with an improved jumpshot

Wiggins grabs title of best amateur player in world by default

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... by-default

So instead of Parker, the 6-foot-7 1/2, 200-pound Wiggins was forced to settle for the No. 2 player in the senior class on Friday night: Julius Randle.

It was mass destruction.

Randle is a beast. He's about 6-foot-8 and likely checks in at around 235 pounds or so. He's big, strong, athletic and just flat-out dominates every forward he goes up against on the summer circuit.

But not Wiggins.

Wiggins made Randle look ordinary, as if he was just another Top 100 player. I will confess that I'm a huge Randle fan, but he was outclassed -- in every manner.

I felt bad for Randle on this one because he didn't have a chance. Wiggins started slow, but by the end of the game he had racked up 28 points, grabbed 13 boards and done a magnificent job turning Randle into a non-factor for most of the contest. Randle finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but the numbers were misleading. Wiggins wanted the defensive challenge against Randle and used his length, quickness and athleticism to continuously frustrate the big Texan.

With that performance, just about everyone present at the Riverview Park Activities Center walked away with the same thought: This kid has to be the best player in the country, regardless of class.

UK fans have spoken. No doubt Joel Pett and Jerry Tipton had a big hand in this. Hope they're happy.

The power of UK fans is truly remarkable. Even in this era of massive print media expansion and hiring, UK fans have managed to force a small local newspaper to actually let some employees go. This is some Darth Vader shit UK fans have going...

The LHL has bashed UK sports for the past 15+ years. What do they expect? Big Blue Nation has had enough of these clowns. I feel for the people fired and wish them nothing but the best.

From KSR......

SEC basketball coaches found a surprise from the SEC in their email inboxes last week.

You know that “constant rival” and those four “home-and-home” opponents the conference announced last month?

Yeah, that changed. And coaches were notified by email last week, out of the blue.

The SEC erased the drawing board for the 2012-13 basketball schedule and started fresh to create a more “competitive balance.” So just forget anything you read in the past. Kentucky was originally paired with Florida as a permanent rivalry, but that could, and likely will, change. It has been confirmed that Vanderbilt will no longer be paired with Tennessee, which could mean the SEC is pairing the Vols and Cats together.

Coaches are upset they were hit with the news out of nowhere and weren’t informed that a change was even being discussed. The league just sent out the new pairings and caught everyone off guard while they were all out recruiting during the July evaluation period.

The SEC will release the entire 2012-13 conference basketball schedule next month.

And to think, it only took 15 years (and the advent of the internet) for UK Nation to get a print media company to lay off a few of their employees. The mighty power of Big Blue never ceases to amaze...

Never fear. If Big Blue Nation gets pissed off enough, this new schedule will surely be changed to something that they prefer. Sometime around the 2027 season, I'm guessing...

so the SEC decided that UT and UK were bigger rivals than Florida, after Florida landed 2 top 10 recruits?

does that mean that UF and UK won't play a home and home? let me guess, we play UF on the road then if it does.

maybe this mean we'll go to the 19 game sked-- home and home with the teams from your division, one game v. opposite division teams.

heck, they used to play an 18 game sked back when it was a 10 team league...

Olympic sports they should bring back:

--Tug-of-war was an Olympic event until 1920.

--The 1900 Olympics in Paris had a competition in live pigeon shooting.

--Rope climbing was an Olympic event until 1932.

--La Canne was a sport at the 1924 Olympics-- like fencing, but whacking your opponent with a cane. Thwack!!
