shit, Cracker Barrel's dining high on the hog for me. we usually hit Golden Corral b/c it's easier to feed the 5-year-old and my wife says she can't eat at other places b/c of her no-carb diet and me, well, I just like to shovel food in my face and then watch my umbilical hernia pulsate like an alien baby.

Cracker Barrel has a pretty good thing going. They have the food made in bulk in the back and you usually get it about 10 minutes after you order. The food isn't great but its mostly comfort food about as good as you can make at home and a family of four can get out the door for $35 (if you have a kid or two that orders from the kids menu).
Old people flock to that place like moths to a flame.
Also, Sonic has milkshakes half price after 8. I've been taking the kids there at least 3 times a week since summer. 2 medium chocolate shakes for $3.25.

I don't let myself get the milkshakes. I just buy them for the kids who still have the metabolism to handle it.

$35 isn't bad for a family of 4 with 2 kids over 10 and eCat's generous appetite. the CB in our town is out by I-95 and it's definitely pricier than GC here.
I still like K&W Cafeteria even with its surly servers.

By some places do you mean "some Sonics?" Sonic charges the same price at every one Ive ever seen (and sometimes I get a malt, never a shake). In fact I think it would be kinda bullshit to charge extra for adding some malted milk in if you arent charging for the difference between plain vanilla vs mint or caramel or strawberry or any of the other more expensive stuff they put in there for a different flavor of shake.

not some Sonics, some places. there was a place in Richmond I went to last week that charged 50ยข more for a malt. just a local diner. I guess because it's an extra step in making it

Never been to a Sonic. What's the purpose? I can go through McDonalds drive thru if I wanted to eat in my car.Probably cheaper too.
