It wasn't an argument, it was a retort, a riposte, or, if you prefer, a bon mot...

He also told the homos that they had an "advocate" in the White House. 3% here, 4% there. It adds up.

This is one place you and I will have to differ Hack. There's no such thing as an illegal immigrant. Immigrants are here legally. Many of them have been naturalized and have the right to vote.

An illegal is not an immigrant. They are breaking our laws by being here. They do not deserve any benefits of our tax dollar aside from basic humanitarian medical aid to ensure they are not a health risk, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a carton of milk to ensure they aren't hungry, and a bus ticket under armed guard of our military to the nearest fucking border.

I don't get into semantical arguments like that. "Illegal immigrant" is an accepted term used to describe the people we're talking about. You don't want to call them immigrants and the left doesn't want to call them illegal. We all know what they are. I don't think you and I disagree about the right to have control of our borders, just like every other country in the world does.

Hack, I was mostly being a smart ass. I do believe in control of our borders and control of our voting booths. But if we had control of them like other countries do, in some cases we'd execute people for entering the country illegally.

It sure makes a guy wonder, doesn't it? What are we supposed to do? We catch them, return them to the Federal-es and five nano-seconds later they're trying to sneak in again.

I'm sure the genius liberal crowd here thinks we should just help them get across the border, sign them up for lifetime welfare/food stamps/assisted living/etc. Let them breed like rats in a cage when they're here and watch the entitlement cost soar through the sky....."Oh, what a thing of beauty!!".

It seems to me being PC & hugging trees just doesn't seem to work. It's a tough call.

It really shouldn't be such a tough call. Secure the borders. Build a wall and patrol it to make sure no one crosses unless they're legally allowed to do so. We'll still have immigration, but we'll know who we're letting in and how many of them there will be. Problem solved. The PC-types have made this seem like a much more complicated problem than it really is.

From the article you linked:

"First of all, we have to secure the border," Romney said, reiterating remarks he made on the campaign trail on Friday. "We need to have an employment verification system, to make sure that those that are working here in this country are here legally."

That makes his position on the issue superior to Obama's by leaps and bounds.

Reading the CNN article about Rodney King, I found it interesting that one of the jurors who helped him get $3.8 million in damages from the City of Los Angeles later became his finance. I guess that's only fair. She deserved a share of the loot.
