Well the best barbeque restaurant in the nation is in Dallas Texas (Pecan Lodge) and Dallas didn't make the list. Yes. The list is silly.

Well, well, well, guess who went to Ocracoke this past weekend on a whim and came home with the third place trophy in the dolphin division in the annual Reel Nauti fishin' tournament? You got it: Me! The son-in-law came too, he took second in the tuna division. It was a great bonding experience for us. Not so much the fishing, but drinking, smoking weed and doing blow all weekend. I'm pretty impressed with the kid, he put us to bed every night, and the night of the final day of the tourny, he hooked up with some locals and didn't come dragging in until 5am, and still managed to be on the boat at 5:30 and fish all day on the way home. Mighty proud of the boy...

Nothing bonds like an eightball, and nothing tears folks apart like one asshole hogging the eightball.

I'm trying to get to Ocracoke soon. It seems like it's my type of place in that it's laid back and filled with folks who like a good time.

I mean, coming home at 5 am and being ready to get on the boat at 5:30 doesnt seem that impressive unless you're saying he actually went to bed for 30 minutes.

I have a daughter. I can't say that I would be that "Mighty proud" of a son-in-law who drank, smoked weed, snorted coke, and hooked up with locals all weekend. I would not feel bonded to him. I might have to have a little talk with the boy.

Congratulations on 3rd place hedge.

I'm from the town where modern, whole-hog barbecue was "invented" 150+ years ago.

The best barbecue town in America is Greenville, NC. They have Sam Jones/Skylight (Skylight is in Ayden -- same county but ten minutes down Hwy 11), B's (Greenville), Bum's (Ayden) and Parker's (Greenville).
