Valentine's first job was the Rangers, I dont think he could have managed him unless Larkin went to play for him in Japan a few years ago.

Why didn't assface use Chapman in that situation? Bray's good, but chances are Beltran's putting the bat on the ball against him and a SF is much more likely than a DP.

And Ondrusek shits himself. Nice job, assface.

Thankfully they are not playing the Braves anymore so I can't see it down here for the next two weeks.

Hate to hear Gomes is gone but looking forward to seeing what Alonso can do.

Hope for the best for Gomes. Liked the guy. Seemed to struggle mightly this year, though. Hope he turns it around. Hopefully we didn't just get dicked over in another deal with the Nats.

Leather Pants is gone. What we got doesn't look bad at the level they are playing.

Braves-Pirates just ended in the 19th. at around 6 hrs, 50 min. it's the longest game in the history of either team and both go pretty far back. Martin Prado went 0 for 9.
Disgraceful call

Yeah, it was a blown call. Two things came to mind watching that live and in real time:
(1) it wasn't a great looking tag. It did look a bit like he whooshed (ole'd) him live.
and...
(2) When you get past 15 innings, the umps are a lot more interested in giving the beenfit of the doubt to any play that ends the game.
Also, McCann is going on the DL with an oblique. I would have rather lost the game at the end of 9 and kept him healthy.

I still can't tell if he made the tag or not from the replays. The throw was there in plenty of time though.

Looks to me like he brushed him on the shin. The throw was good and in plenty of time. The tag could have been made in such a fashion to remove any doubt. It's catching 101. You learn those tags right after you learn to frame an outside pitch to get the strike call.
Anyway, after 19 innings, the umps are looking for a score to end the game. I guarantee that benefit of the doubt will be given that allows the umps to head to IHOP for pancakes.

You can also tell by Lugo's reaction of resignation to being out until the ump yelled out the call...

Lugo has played so little he was confused. Anyway, the blame for that call is 90% Pirate catcher, 10% ump.

So, they are proud of the worst uncalled dirty play in the history of the world series?
