I thought she jumped out of the tree. there have been much better battles on that series but I think they built this one up pretty good. seeing the darthraki charge only to have their torches extinguished--then the charge of the undead and the screams to retreat blah blah blah --still excellent episode better then avengers chain of events. one more big battle left if anybodys left from the north/the wall/darthracki/unsullied
Well, what's the verdict on GOT? Everybody watch (both of you) or do we need to use spoiler tags? Not that I think that finale could be spoiled any worse than the producers, writers and director did...

I found it interesting that, in a show full of cocksuckers and asshole leaders, within two episodes they made one of their 8 season characters go from a protagonist straight to where they actually filmed a Nazi rally and made her “literally Hitler”

It was a decidingly unflattering metaphor, IMO for her, just a lazy intellectual way to ramp up her “evilness” and comes pretty close, if you think about, to making the opposite comparison that “maybe the Nazis werent bad at first”

the series was enjoyable but they blatantly ripped off so many aspects of other shows/movies/books to roll it into a series.

the walking dead, Lord of the Rings (even had a book at the end telling the tale being read by their version of a hobbitt)

So I have only watched this season, but my impression has been that this is a world full of completely ruthless assholes and murderers but then all of a sudden half of them are spouting peace and love and "spare the innocent!" I did think the scene where the blond chick was looking at the iron throne reminded me of Gollum lusting after the ring. I thought she was about to whisper "my precious!"

I was hoping the blond chick was going to tell the guy who killed her (her former lover who turns out he's her nephew) that she did it all for him, that he was the rightful heir to the throne and she did all that so that everyone would love him even more b/c they hated her for destroying the city, but they would somehow overlook it if she were his queen and he was on the throne. But then I figured the feminists would be up in arms with some sort of "why does the woman always have to defer to the male?" type of critique. I figured the freaky goth boy would get to be king, the women can't complain too much about that b/c he's crippled.

The only part of last night's show that had any shred of reality in regard to how those people really thought was when the midget suggested they let the people vote for the new king and then after a short pause, everyone started laughing their ass off at such a dumbass idea. Oh, that and when the new cabinet starts snipping and sniping over whose going to get money for what, although even that was too much of a nod to modern political "negotiation".

Still, I enjoyed every other episode, I thought the last one where she destroyed the whole city was the most realistic in terms of "what would people like that in a world like that really do." All the bullshit about justice and mercy, etc., in last night's episode just rang hollow. I might have to go back and watch the earlier seasons, or just go back and read some Conan books. No talk of justice and mercy in those, thank Crom...

It was a better ending then Dexter.

Can't wait for the adventures of Arya spinoff show.

"It was a better ending then Dexter."

I don't even know what that means, but it certainly has a "damning with faint praise" air to it...

Both on Netflix. Tried to do a search and doesn't seem like they have been discussed thus far. Black Summer is basically TWD done more competently. This is the only episode of Black Mirror I've seen but it was pretty good. Not to be confused with the movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which was a complete dumpster fire.
