The Romo of the North.
I would say it's a disaster, but football contract structures allow people to get past these mistakes kinda quickly. I think he has a huge portion guaranteed, but I can't see him playing on that contract past the next 3 years. This does tie their hands a bit if they luck up on a stud in a draft, but sadly (right now) Cutler still is the 2nd best QB in the division. I'd be hard pressed to say Romo is anywhere above the bottom of the bucket in the NFCE...factoring in the expectation that RGIII will come back 100% next year.

Bears have to use their draft picks rebuilding the defense. I'll be stunned if they draft a QB.
And yeah, 7 years definitely doesn't mean 7 years...

well, if they didn't want him to leave they should have insisted on an ironclad deal.
he'll probably regret taking the Texans job in 2 years time anyway.

Cutler's biggest problem is staying healthy.

Bluecat lurks but he has to be particularly offended or motivated to actually post anything

well, I guess we won't see AA for a lot longer now.
I wonder how things would have worked out for Bama had Saban not insisted on that 1 second back on the clock...

AJ was running for his life back there
Can't feel too bad for Bama when they can move a freshman like Derrick Henry right up the depth chart and watch him run over the competition

I think FSU will violate Auburn in a hideous manner.

Both excellent observations. Saban obviohsly should have gone to the Longhorns.
Why was Peterson on the OU sideline?
