That wasn't an option as an on-the-run bank robber in the dust bowl. having Freddie Kruger melted cheese burns on the tits would be a mitigating factor though.

So Oxygen is doing a series on the Pike County murders. Given the photos of the suspect family, I have to believe eCat, or at the very least, Rat, knows this ilk.
Reminds me of the time in 1989 that we drove from Greensboro to Cincinnati to see the Dead and came up thru West Virginia on a mostly 2-lane road thru some of the bleakest, trashiest towns I've ever seen (and I'm from the land that God forsook in eastern NC). Just hard, ugly trailer park living with abandoned cars and warshing machines in thec
yards amid beautiful rivers and woods. I never wanted to go back to Ohio and I haven't

When we were taking our daughter up to Maryland to visit a school I decided to drive thru West Virginia. Some of it was beautiful but the town we stopped in, Parkersburg was a meth induced night of the living dead. Portsmith, OH which in on the far eastern border along the Ohio River gives off that vibe.
Fwiw, I loved Maryland. The congested city part not so much but the western part of the state was great.
Growing up in western Kentucky, you don't easily identify with the Eastern people. They are just very different culturally and if you ain't one them then you stay away.

You mean eastern Kentucky people or East Coast people?
In NC, it's been watered down but the mountain folk and the coastal folk were clannish and suspicious of outsiders not that long ago.
Of course, it's still like that in DS' backwater corner of the state
