I wonder how Chris Hitchens is doing these days.

Probably not as well as Mother Theresa.

Actually I'm a windmill hugger, sardis. Especially since the oldest son left AT&T for Barnhart-Crane, the wind turbine manufacturer..he just settled in Plattsburg, NY last week. He even managed to land his younger brother a summer job at a B-C wind farm in OK ( until he goes back to UT in the fall).

Green energy, baby..that's where the green is

Green jobs can only exist if they receive massive government subsidies.

And sometimes, as in the case of Solyndra, they can't even survive WITH massive government subsidies.

Real Clear Politics just moved Michigan into the Obama-leaning column. That makes sense. He leads by 7.5% in the RCP average.

That gives 243 electoral college votes in either solidly Obama or leaning Obama states. He is now only 27 EC votes short of winning the election.

Of the remaining swing states, Obama is currently winning Colorado (9 EC votes), Iowa (6 EC votes), Ohio (18 EC votes), and New Hampshire (4 EC votes).

Romney is winning Arizona (11 EC votes).

All the other swing states - Wisconsin, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida - are tied within the MOE.

This brilliant idea of going with the mushy moderate RINO doesn't seem to be working thus far.

So, we're leaning toward a quick death instead of a long drawn out one.

Pretty much. It will be a close election in the popular vote, but it won't be close according to the one that counts - the electoral college.

And four years from now, people like IB will tell us that nominating a mushy moderate is the ONLY way to win over the independents and therefore the election. Even though that strategy has never worked in three (soon to be four) attempts.

Romney in 2016!

Heh. Fair enough. On Sunday I'm flying to Ireland for a week, and then sailing back on the Queen Mary 2.

You won't have Professor Tiger to kick around for two whole weeks.

That's cool, Prof. You can go ahead and count me as envious.

Correct....

"Where be your gibes now? your
gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment,
that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one
now, to mock your own grinning? quite chap-fallen?
Now get you to my lady's chamber, and tell her, let
her paint an inch thick, to this favour she must
come"...

Good luck, seriously, if wind weren't so politically correct it'd be dead, but it is slowing rusting away....Imagine some oil rig or other gas/diesel/oil facility was responsible for the death of so many eagles and hawks, it'd be crucified quicker than slick Willie could drop his pants.
