Given that Griffin's dad has tried to insert himself into the situation, I'm almost certain that Shanahan isn't the problem here.

Snyder is the owner. He ain't going nowhere. Seems as though Shanahan wants to get fired.

The response from Snyder should be to fire the offensive coordinator immediately.

Of course he's not going anywhere. As long as he owns them though they will always be a circus.

firing shanahan means 7 million snyder has to pay
shanahan quitting means 0 snyder has to pay

both sides will come together but shanahan has the upper hand

From my understanding, Griffin's dad "inserting himself into the situation" was him going into the locker room to check on him after a seeming reaggravation of his knee injury. It's actually not that big of a deal that his dad made it into the locker room during a time when family is not normally able to do so. It happens with favored players a lot. It's just not talked about unless there is a pile on when people want to make a diva out of a player.

I understand the reasons why but I'm going be surprised if Saban goes to Texas and leaves Bama.

I did see that Saban hasn't signed his contract extension and the Bama AD will not comment on Saban's employment with the college - neither of which sounds like a long term plan to stay

not sure what Saban could ask for, he's already the highest paid coach right?

short of having the stem cells from newborn babies, I think he has just about whatever he wants now

Longhorn fans are convinced that Saban is personal guarantor on like $25 million in debt for real estate transactions with Alabama boosters and that Texas boosters are going to pick up the tab, or some bullshit like that.
