There was a fine array of seersucker in church Sunday - sad thing was there were only 9 ladies hats in a crowd of about 400. Blasphemy!

I bet there weren't many ladies wearing huge corsages either. No wonder the Episcopal Church is shrinking so rapidly.

Yes, they don't focus on the important stuff while slipping on trivial matters like same sex unions and the resurrection.

But they do use a fine brand of Cabernet Sauvignon and socially responsible climate-sustainable union-made free range gluten free organic wafers for communion.

thats urban legend - we had a dark rich port despite the altar guild's concerns of stains to the linens.
I see the one or two green gluten free hosts on the paten but no one ever asks for them.

I assume the wine was made by a minority owned winery and the wafer manufacturer is divested from oil company stocks.

Since tomorrow is the correct Easter, this article is accurate from an Orthodox perspective:

Wacky traditions, but I like the music. Always enjoy Russian Orthodox chants.

When taken literally, it's hard to imagine a stupider holiday than Easter.

"The devout waited for religious leaders to emerge with the "Holy Fire," which, as the video above shows, quickly spread throughout the church. The fire is then taken on planes to Greece and other Orthodox Christian communities around the world.

According to AP, the ritual dates back at least 1,200 years, and is considered a miracle and a message to the faithful from heaven."

Wow, they've been flying the "holy fire" from Jerusalem to Greece on airplanes for 1200 years? That really is a miracle...

Our denomination mandates the use of Manischewitz or Mogen David. All other wines are strictly verboten. We get the wafers from the Catholic store.

We had 400 ladies in hats and not a single seersucker suit.

The men in my congregation lean towards FUBU:
