How do you have a Ryder Cup style tournament in one day? By the way, next year look into adding Streamsong to that mix. It opens this winter and it looks awesome.

By the way, that trip sounds like a blast. I'm doing a trip to Pinehurst in a couple weeks but it's a much smaller event/group than it looks like you have. I really want to find the right mix of guys and start an annual golf event. Unfortunately, my friends are either really good or really bad. That makes it tough.

met the father of my future brother-n-law.

They have an apartment on the 43rd floor of some building with a view overlooking central park and the Empire State building.

He is fronting his son the money to head up some exploratory natural gas drilling in the Dallas area.

I was like "oh yea? well I can afford HBO!"

way out of my league here.

In order to get Central Park and the ESB, then he must be on the Upper West SIde...with a killer place on Columbus or CPW. If it's Upper West Side, then most likely they are from the Tribe and ultra Liberal. However, with the gas drilling, maybe they're politics are a little more non-stereotypical.

Anyway, do they have any daughters I can have an affair with? My daughter's birthday is coming up and I could use a sponsor, if one is available.

If they can see Central Park and the ESB, they evidently own a corner apartment, if not the entire floor...

I thought jews eschewed the upper west side...

Nah, your more secular (but still Kosher and still do Temple) Jews are on the Upper West side. Orthodox Jews are found in Upstate NY or Crown Heights through Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for the most part.

Your Seinfeld Jews are on the Upper West Side. Your Rabbi Schmuly Jews are in Upstate or The Brook, largely. Your young Jews in culture only live in Murray Hill with parents in Long Island (and Grandparents in Florida after they sold their Upper West Side or Morningside Heights apartment).

It may simply a corner apartment, true, but if the father is floating checks for exploratory nat gas drilling then it is very likely the place is two or three apartments linked together or a duplex. Obviously, there is some cash in the family.

There were 24 of us total on the trip, most from Dallas, Houston region with a few from Chicago and elsewhere. 2 teams picked the night before and balanced based on performance in the previous days performance. Of course, we were playing with the threat of lightning and a 70% chance of rain due to the tropical storm. WE were just lucky. The rain was sporadic and only heavy for about 15 minutes the first day. Lightning stopped us with only 3 holes to play.

I HATE THE PINK BALL TOURNAMENT. Basically, each player has to play a pink ball for a hole (thus 4 holes for 2 players, 5 for the other 2 players). The problem, those of us rare players with high handicaps (ME for one). Have at least one on each team. The team winner of the pot is the one that has the lowest score that keeps the pink ball the longest. My team lost our's early on 8. Out top player (probably an 11 handicap) is a 260 to 280 yard driver, but on this hole, put it into the water that was to his left at a 45 degree angle.

5 courses in two days is too much, imo. 2-1-1 is probably better. Anyway, we were rained out this am.
