We dispatch death squads to kill nuns, doctors, judges, opposition leaders, and civilians in general.
What the hell are you talking about?

Yeah, there's been some Inquisitions and witch-burnings and other low points along the way.
Prof meant to say Protestant Christianity is more civilized than the muslims...

The Anglicans used to burn closet Catholics during Henry's reign.

Throw in some of the crusades to round things out.

Do the Protestants have to claim the Phelps clan and Jim Jones?

In closing, much more violence -recently- has been done in the name of Jesus than in the name of the one true god, Lord Saban (blessed be His name).

Only if you don't count violence done to oak trees and passed-out LSU fans.

I don't think you can count them as Protestants, but even so, I don't think the Phelps have killed or physically harmed anyone and at least the Jim Jones' killed themselves...

I think it is mostly only Catholics that refer to Protestants as "Protestant." As to how Protestants look at themselves, they will often say methodist, baptist, congregational, church of Christ, full Gospell, evangelical, or just Christian (for the non-denominationals such as myself.)

You've got to have SOME kind of umbrella term to describe the tens of thousands of groups that share certain beliefs invented ex nihilo by Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, et al. Even though they disagree with each other on everything else, they do tend to agree about Sola Scriptura, Sola Fidei, congregationalism, etc.

Yeah, that "protest" (against Rome) - from which the Protestants get their collective name - has been going on for 400+ years now.

How's that working out?

How's it working out? Just fine by me, I just can't reconcile Luke 16:18 for one of the people I giving marrital counseling to as his fiancee is a divorcee.

How is what I said incorrect?

Yeah, Sardis. The pope has a special ops team to whack nuns. There is a hit squad from the Southern Baptist convention responsible for assassinating judges. The Rastafarians do a lot of wet jobs on the doctors. Roving bands of Zen Buddhists are constantly inflicting mayhem on the general population.

It's all part of the worldwide conspiracy orchestrated by the CIA and Mossad. Al Jazeera has been covering this for years. Op Ed has been faithfully keeping up to date on this situation. Where have you been?
