Welp, I got a drone "for the family" for Christmas, obviously it was for me and the future son-in-law, but I said it was for the fambly just so I'd get christmas credit for a fambly gift. We just got around to getting it all set up this morning and took it out to the driveway and started flying it. Got a few good pictures of the house, then lost control. Now it's stuck about 100 feet up in the top of a pine tree. Glad I got a cheap one...

one year for Xmas, I think we were in like 5th grade or so, the kid up the road got a Cox airplane, the kind that you started up with a alcohol powered motor and you controlled it with two strings.

here is a video of what is supposed to happen

now as kids , neither one of us came from a family with money so this was his main present right, and here we are on the church parking lot between our houses taking this thing out of the box and getting it started.

I'm holding the string handle and he is following the instructions on how to start it. He puts the battery on it, gases it up, flips the propeller and this little beast starts up. He says you ready and I said yes. However I was not ready, I had no idea what ready even meant and he let go of it and that thing made about half a loop straight up, the string tightened on the controls and it proceeded to do a 100mph nose dive right into the pavement, busted up in about 20 pieces, and skidded off into the grass.

He looked at me and ran off to pick up the pieces screaming his dad was going to beat him.

That's what would happen if I bought a drone of any value.

Yeah, me too... a P-51 Mustang. I fly the RC planes now. Used to have 4... now only 2. Crashes can be a bummer.

Built a 1/6 scale Piper Cub but never flew it. Sold it for $100.

I think some girl was killed by a coyote and it started speculation as to whether, if it was life or death, do you think you could kill a coyote. I said I thought I could. It might've even been two coyotes...

The article said it took him 10 minutes to do the deed. Said he had his hands on the coyote's snout and then just laid on him until he suffocated. I think if I had a good grip on his snout, I would've tried to break his neck...

Speaking of huskies, I was on the chubby side as a kid and my dad and brother would tease me because I had to wear "husky" jeans...

In an absolute frenzy of wrath, I turned at once upon him who had thus interrupted me, and seized him violently by the collar. He was attired, as I had expected, in a costume altogether similar to my own; wearing a Spanish cloak of blue velvet, begirt about the waist with a crimson belt sustaining a rapier. A mask of black silk entirely covered his face.

“Scoundrel!” I said, in a voice husky with rage, while every syllable I uttered seemed as new fuel to my fury; “scoundrel! impostor! accursed villain! you shall not — you shall not dog me unto death! Follow me, or I stab you where you stand!”
