"I would not be surprised if it comes out some other attorney's turned a blind eye to Murdaugh using the firm for money laundering or as the "bank" to front money for wholesale drug purchases."

Oh yeah, that's a possibility, but seems like he'd would've been making money instead of losing it in that case. No way an individual can consume drugs at the wholesale level, certainly not the millions of dollars wholesale level. Another possibility is that he was really just a dilettante when it came to the drugs, yeah, he popped a few pills here and there but nothing like enough to qualify as a junkie. In that case he could've been stumbling around and running up bills all over the place on various things. But the junkie angle makes for a good scandal, and so the press went with it. But who knows...

He was consuming, but he wasn’t purchasing just for consumption…far from it. There’s a history of old money families in the Low Country bringing drugs in through those small coastal towns…

Add another mysterious death connected to Alex Murdaugh. It’s hard to keep track of them all.

Apparently, the first time she mentioned what happened to her (to authorities) was last year when she sued Epstein's victim's fund. She got $5 million and after lawyer's fees and taxes, took home $2.9 million.

So for 20 years, she didn't say a word. He and Ghislaine started violating her in 1995 and didn't stop until 2000 (apparently she aged out when she turned 20.) I listened to her testimony on a "live chat" feed. Ghislaine and Jeffrey started violating her when she was 14 years old. Apparently the old man would masturbate all over her while Ghislaine would be rubbing her private parts. Pretty gross. And she admitted that she gave Epstein handjobs, blowjobs, everything. And she saw them on numerous occasions.

The reason why she kept going back to Epstein (kept being violated this way) was for money. Her mother sent "Jane Doe" back over and over again. But it was her mother who was getting the money. "Jane Doe" had 4 or 5 siblings, all of them older than her, and 3 of them were only half-siblings. They all needed money because "Jane Doe's" dad died of leukemia when she was just 13. Apparently, mom just DID NOT WORK. So Epstein stepped up and offered to give her mother money in exchange for getting "Jane Doe" into some kind of special school or modeling contract or whatever. That is when the abuse started. And "Jane Doe" told people at the school what Epstein and Ghislaine were doing and that counsellor called her mother and her mother read "Jane Doe" the riot act because she didn't want other people to know family business. Bottom line, mom was pimping out her daughter to Epstein so she knew all along what Epstein and Ghislaine were doing to her daughter. She just didn't care.

I'm going to be sick.

Yesterday, was the very first time in CRIMINAL COURT (at ANY level; county, state, or federal) where an actual "victim" gave actual cross-examined testimony in all the decades all of this sex trafficking has been going on. Even back in 2008 when Epstein agreed to the plea deal, no one heard anything from the victims. Not a peep. Acosta may have spoken with them, but they sure weren't there in that courtroom in June of 2008.

And of course, the cross-examination was fucking brutal. Jane Doe, WHY are you coming out NOW (after 20 years of silence) and fingering Ghislaine Maxwell of being in the room and getting off while you were getting Epstein off? Why didn't you mention that even once in the last 20 years? You had 20 years to go the police, why now? Jane's response?
I don't know.
We are going to hear that a lot I think, I don't know. I think we are going to hear that from all the victims, I don't know. We are going to hear that as excuse as to why they kept returning to Epstein (and Ghislaine) over-and-over. Of course the defense is going to portray all these girls (now 30+ year old women) as nothing other than money grubbing whores. Of course they are going to do that. But at least that portrayal offers a possible, logical explanation as to WHY they remained so silent for two decades. They didn't want to be cross examined and seen as whores.

Its not a crime for teen aged girl who wants to be a model or an actress or a massage therapist (does anyone dream of doing that?) to succumb to grooming. She was 14. She just.... submitted to authority. She was an impressionable girl. I'm sure she regrets everything she did, regrets listening to her mom, regrets ever being in the same state as Ghislaine. But we have laws on the books saying that a 14 can not give consent to sex partially because a 14 year old girl (by virtue of her being 14) means she isn't accountable.

I certainly hope the jury remembers that. Even if they paint her as nothing more than an underage whore, she was underage.

Let it be a black kid trying to grab five finger discount at the convenience store and IB will claim that 14 year old is an adult…

No.

To be honest tree, I don't want Ghislaine. I want ALL THE JOHNS, ALL OF THEM. I want an offer to be made to her to have her rat out every single high powered man that ever violated these girls. Then drop her into the witness protection program because she is a dead woman if you don't.

But I don't get what I want.

to give an idea of the job market right now

I just gave a guy that works for me a $5K raise, and that brings him to a total of $14K worth of raises working for me over the course of 3 years, and he told me point blank it should have been $10K more and he is now going to look for another job.

Now that might be an outlier, except I promoted another guy that reports to me , new job title change, larger bonus pool bucket, with a $6K pay increase on top of the $5K I gave him last year. With the bonus and pay increase, its probably a package worth a little north of $10K a year in salary increase.

Same thing, I should have given him $4K more and he can do better on the open job market or going to another position in the company.

In both cases I was pumped to talked to these guys thinking they would be thrilled with the bump in pay I got them - which I had to argue for, and they are like thanks for nothing.

I have to do 6 more before the end of next week, all of them smaller raises than this so its going to suck.

Workers certainly have leverage. If I lose either one of them, I won't hit my goals for next year, which will crush my performance evaluation with my boss.

This victim (Haylie Robson) recruited 8 other girls, $200 a pop. She says she feels guilty for this. Sure.

Of course she regrets it. That was a federal offense. At 16, she broke federal sex trafficking laws. She WAS a criminal accomplice, WAS part of the sex trafficking. Again, no wonder so many of them don't want to come forward.

There have been so many laws broken by so many people here. To enforce the law with this one, and not with that one, who wants to be the one to make those decisions?
