We might have had pre-calc but I don't remember. I am sure that algebra was not in the course catalog since algebra is for 8th grade not college. But, he may not have taken any math classes since there were lots of different ways to get the math and science requirements done.

It starts with Pre-Calc.

They do offer Linear and Abstract Algebra, but that is a quite a few steps above basic.

Of course Pre Calc is probably just College Algebra and maybe Trig

I thought Iverson was a Fine Arts or Graphic Arts major of some sort. I don't know how much math he had to take in his two years at G'town.

If they required core classes as a foundation at the school then I bet he had to take at least 1 math class.

well- someone had to take a math class who said "yes" when they called out Iverson, Allen at the start of class.

He would have been an art major. You don't declare a major until after the 2nd year and he was gone by then. The first two years are for core classes. He might have taken an art class here or there but we didn't have much room for electives until the core stuff was done. I know we had math and science requirements in the core and I know I took calculus but I don't remember if I was required to take calc or if it was my choice. That decision was made a long time ago.

I had to take "Business Math I" (Linear equations and applications, systems oflinear equations, matrix algebra and applications, linear programming (graphical method), probability andapplications, statistics) and "Business Math II" (Derivatives, curve sketching and optimization, techniques of derivatives, logarithms and exponential functions with applications, integrals, techniques andapplications of integrals, multivariate calculus).

I didn't take a single science course in college but I started school with 8 hours of physics and 4 hours of chem credit.

All of my buddies who ultimately went to law school (i.e. Poli Sci majors) only had to take two classes of "Functions." If I remember correctly, it was basically counting apples and dividing fractions. Based on my SAT and my major, they put me straight into Calculus, so that was the only math class I ever took in undergrad.

Cuban on the Olympics:
"I think it's the biggest mistake the NBA makes," Cuban said of allowing NBA stars to compete in international competition. "If you look up stupid in the dictionary you see a picture of the USA Dream Team playing for free for corporate America so the U.S. Olympic Committee can make billions of dollars. So if you come up with something that you own that you can give to me for free so I can make billions of dollars, I want it.

"And it has nothing to do with patriotism and it's all about money. You don't see the (International) Olympic Committee in Switzerland saying, 'Oh, we made so much money, let's give it to people.' How many jets do they have?"

Right now, UNC is #1 and UK is #2 in the Capital Cup Standing.

I'm not 100% sure what that is but I think its a point system for having the best overall athletics program

How is that a mistake the NBA makes? Maybe a mistake the players make, but not the NBA

since the Dream Team the NBA's global profile has expanded exponentially. Licensing & merchandising has exploded. Games are regularly broadcast in Punjabi & Mandarin.

Cuban is just butt-hurt because Dirk shows up to camp every year unrested due to his Team Germany obligations.
If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

If north carolina and kentucky are 1 and 2, then clearly it's based on how much capital the schools send to their student athltetes....

Education is so very different here, because I was on an Oxford University stream and doing fine arts I could drop math (thank god) but had to keep arithmetic, also had to drop down from three languages to two and Latin was a must do so I dropped Russian. Some came back when I was in Russia---but you will never convince me the letter x can be a number!!--totally right sided brain! Logic deceives me--but I can paint a pretty picture!
