They lose with style.

And, kidding aside, I think the Hogs are much better than their record. Honestly, they played well enough to beat TAMU and Bama (and should have won both games), and played MissState tougher than anyone has this year.

It wouldn't have taken very much for Alabama to have broken their conference losing streak... They have to learn to win as a team again, I expect BB will have them in a much better position next season.

Next year's SECCG: Arkansas vs. Tennessee.

It wouldn't be a total shock. Both will be lightyears better.

BTW, I think LSU is rated a little too high.

I debated on placing Ole Miss ahead of them, but they are both 7-2, LSU won H2H, and Ole Miss, besides losing Treadwell, has several key injuries.

Who else would be ahead of them?

SEC champion would likely still go, and I'd be fine with that. One team from the SEC probably should be in the playoffs, unless that team has 3 losses. It's this "three of the best four, and six of the best eight teams in the nation are in the SEC" bullshit that I have/had a problem with. And again, as I've said before, they were getting credit for games yet to be played, then getting credit again afterward by artificially inflating SEC teams' rankings after a loss.

There just aren't ANY really good QBs in the SEC (outside of Prescott, maybe, and that makes the defenses look much better than they really are.

But like the rest of the playoff contender fans, I hope Bama loses at least one more and neither AU or UA wins the SEC, because I think those are still the best teams in the conference, and the toughest to beat especially with a month to prepare and heal. I like our chances against Oregon, anOSU, TCU, etc. much better, if we can win out - and I'm worried about Miami this week.

In fairness, rankings are by their very nature artificial...

I disagree that the offenses are bad and inflate the defensive rankings. I think Blake, Bo, Hutson, and Dak are all top 25 in QB rating, nationally. Nick Marshall was doing well last year and parts of this year. And the Arkie offense, like Wisconsin, doesn't have to have a world beater at QB because of their run game. I think you have to look at total offense and scoring offense to get an idea of the quality of offenses in the SEC which usually has 6 or 7 teams in the 40 nationally.

Of course, for fun, you could flip your quote and say the following:
There just aren't ANY really good defenses in the ACC (outside of Clemson, maybe, and that makes Jameis look much better than he really is.
I don't agree with that, either. Even though, I'm sure some of my SEC brethren have said that exact statement.

I'm glad to see the SEC power rankings take on this much clarity. This is the first week in awhile with no ties...

Honestly, 1-4, 5-9, and 10-13 could be tied.

That's a mighty hard comedown for TAMU from week 1...
