Not just that but they had to change rules to give wing players a bigger advantage because of lack of scoring. I wonder what MJ would have done with the joke that has become the NBA. A lot of people are turned off by the ugly play and no doubt some of it has to do with lack of fundamentals. I enjoyed the way it was played in the early 90s-mid 90s before Kevin Garnett changed the league. These stupid GMs draft on potential and a lot of times it doesn't pan out. The quality of play would be a lot better if kids stayed in school 2-3 years. It's better for the NBA to be able to draft more on productivity for 2-3 years than potential. That's why Cuban wants it to be 3 years but that's highly doubtful.
Heh. you are guessing.

After watching Anthony Davis on Jimmy Kimmel,
I think Stern should make it mandatory that any college player entering the NBA take life skills, personal finance and some kind of investment classes.
I love the kid but all I could think of while he was sitting there talking about getting a Bentley is he is going to be broke 2 years after he gets out of the NBA.
Brandon Jennings should be required to meet with each kid before they put their name in the draft.

the league does this every year at rookie orientation
they bring in speakers, financial advisors, give the kids a full run-down of the horror stories....
one big exercise in futility

i hadn't thought of it until reading it somewhere this a.m., but even after posting an all-time best 38 wins this year, uk managed to gain only 6 games on each of our 2 closest competitors: ku and unc both won 32. we're now 20 up on kansas and 25 on carolina

100% agreed...If the NBA were to adopt either a two or a three year after high school graduation rule, with no possibility of going pro out of high school, it would be criminal for the league not to invest in some sort of "NBA Major" for the can't miss kids, who would not be in school otherwise. Hell, I resented having to take bullshit classes at Carolina in Philosophy, etc., in order to make me a "more well-rounded person", when they had absolutely nothing to do with my major. But at least the majority of my courses were geared towards my career direction. If the NCAA is truly interested in shedding the "dumb jock" image, why not make the classes relevant to what the superstars are in school for anyway?

Probably considering Talent is a douchebag chicken shit and has only posted here twice since last May when the whole Tressel thing went down. Then again he should be easy to search for the post telling you where to send the check.

I was reminded why you don't travel on holiday.
spring break week, the week after the final four in New Orleans and the Saturday before Easter
from exit 205 to exit 323 on I-65 took over 4 hours on Saturday.

That's when I hit the alternate route/avoid traffic option on the GPS and take secondary roads and non-interstate highways.

I was thinking the controversy would be more gene manipulation related than phone calls or texts...Kinda like the ol' East Germans.

I remember the initial stages of this investigation from a couple years ago, an assistant (morefield I think) had a bunch of extra calls, and I think they got rid of him and self reported. This sounds like that then went campus-wode and involved many staff members in multiple programs.
I think its likely based on the timing here that Baylor's men's program was still under NCAA probation from violations during the Dave Bliss scandal when some of these violations occured. I doubt the NCAA accepts their self imposed sanctions in the Men's program.

It was bad Friday night the week before as well with all the construction around Bowling Green. I came through there northbound yesterday, no problem. On the way down the UL fans didn't like the UK flag on my car, so I just held up a coat hanger, like the one for Karen Sypher. Didn't see any UL flags on the way back.
