I assume there is some NCAA violation on it but I always wondered why players just didn't get relatively high paying jobs (whatever the going rate is) at a place like a car dealership as mentioned in the article.

There should be no difference in a kid working at McDonalds making $8 an hour and a kid working at a car dealership making $35K a year if the kid can land the job. I understand that the reality is its a no show job and essentially he is being given the money but the dealership is paying payroll tax, the kid will get a W-2 - in the eyes of Uncle Sam its a legitimate job.

Arkie did that with jobs at a trucking company under Nutt. It was some sorta violation.

I guess there is nothing stopping a guy from naming a kid a vice president and paying him a $100K lump sum but I can see where its falls withing the boundaries of reasonable that you hire a kid and pay him a wage that is comparable for other people on your staff who have similar capabilities -all the while knowing you don't care if the kid is actually any good at what he does or not. We've all worked at a place that hired the son-n-law who slept in the office.

I guess the NCAA doesn't care as long as you are hiring other college students at the same wage.

After this comment, Rat made a request for pics. Probably will regret this but shit, I don't care. This was taken a few years ago and not much has changed except for my little girl growing up.

Report says Bama, Vol an MSU players received extra benefits while in college.. If true, could mean forfeiting wins and maybe championships in which the players named played in.

.......and a Happy Birthday to former UK football coach Paul 'Bear' Bryant who would have been 100 years old today.

I heard about the DJ stuff a few months back. The Luther Davis stuff is new to me. None of it appears to be recruiting/competitive advantage related - just agent stuff. Aka Tank Black.

We should be okay. But who knows. You can never be assured of anything with the NCAA.
