I had the ground tarp down but water under the tent wasn't the problem. It was just seeping in all over and especially through the lightweight fly, so I should have use a tarp for a heavy-duty fly. I have a bigger, better tent but I like the small one when it's just me.

I forgot that I had just gotten a reclining camp chair for $3 at a thrift store on Thursday, so I ended up staying in it in the cabin by the fire. Luckily our troop was running Webeloree so we had access to the cabin at the Boy Scout camp.

Really, if I am going to do more camping, and I probably will, I think I may get a hammock. Half the troop, including my son, uses them and everyone loves them. They're warmer (or cooler), drier and more comfortable than sleeping in a tent.

The only camping you're going to do is at Kamper's Lodge on 301...

after 6 years of camping with the boy scouts, I don't care if I ever sleep in a tent again.

I wish Stu lived closer, I'd happily set him up for camping. Over time I collected the good stuff - Eureka tents, 0 degree sleeping backs, fleece liners, cots, hydration packs. The 4 person Eureka tent met with an early demise but we replaced them with Quest tents which are good quality.

all of which are just collecting dust in my garage.

He's still got a tent and sleeping bag he borrowed from me months ago. He won't return them...

Mine is sub-zero goose down filled. Of course, you'll never be camping anywhere under 40 degrees, so you don't need it. It's for real campers...
