Shooting better than 50% from the ft line wouldn't hurt either. Not that they've shot a ton, but if they'd hit a few more, they might at least be within single digits, which at least would give them a psychological boost. It was going to take more than psychology for them to win this one, but they don't even have that...

UK came up off the throttle a bit, though, too. They are not pushing as much, but also running good sets in the half court, for the most part. It's a false closeness.

UK fans must now endure a moment of angst. Until Gilcrest or Lamb hits a 3 or Davis gets a dunk. Nobody is going to remember or care that it wasn't quite the blowout that it was looking to be for awhile, UK is going to coast into a national championship but nobody can ever take it away from them. Doesn't matter if you win by 1 or 100...
