right now we are pulling up carpets and removing nails, staples, and covering gouges on the floor with filler.
I will be renting a floor sander next weekend and plan on fully refinishing the wood floors in the house.
This will be a first, I'm worried I"m gonna fuck it up
I watched several youtube videos on it, so I know what I need to get, what works best , etc

here is a twist for you
my sons crazy GF broke up with him
she is now seeing the guy who I bought the house from, his friend who got divorced and decided to sell the house while they would all hang out there
so needless to say, the son is not too happy with the friend.
I am though, he dodged a bullet, one day soon he'll see it that way too, maybe when his divorced friend marries her and she gains 200 pounds while bankrupting him going to Taylor Swift concerts

Unfortunately, my son ended up marrying the crazy. Less than 6 months into the marriage, she quit her job because she needs a “mental break” from working….at the age of 24…

I got lucky. Both step-daughters married good guys, I like one of them more than the other, but even the nerdy one is a hard worker and has a good job and is from a good fambly, and they seem well-matched, which is all I care about (plus they live an hour and a half away, so I don't have to deal with them much). The other two live here and we see them frequently and I can smoke weed and do blow with that SIL, so I like that. We were standing around the grill a few weeks ago pretending to tend to the food but really doing bumps, I said "Just think, one day I'll be standing here with one of your kids doing bumps." Really gives me something to look forward to...

So some "chick" just texted me, asking if I wanted to go to dinner, said she had tried to contact me on What's App (my first thought was "what's that?") but had been blocked. I googled her area code, it's Bakersfield. She said "Aren't you Emma? We played golf together last week." Coincidentally enough (not), I did play golf last weekend, and the MIF's oldest daughter is named Emma. This shit is fucked up. She did send a picture of herself, though, she's hot, so I gave her my social security number and a credit card number...

She kept asking my name, but I kept texting "tell me your golf score first." She finally texted back "12 birdies and 2 eagles on a par 71." Pffffftttt...

wife almost got scammed with Venmo
the person called us up and said they wanted to buy something we were selling online, some bullshit crystal crap and this woman says that we she needs our email address to send it to us using her business account.
so we get this email from Venmo saying the money was sent but was being held because I need to upgrade to a Venmo business account to receive the funds. And in order to do that I needed to spend $225 or whatever.
The email was not from Venmo, it was from a fake account made to look like Venmo. As far as scams go it was pretty lame but it was still a pain to deal with. Since yesterday 2 more people have tried it.
lots of people using stolen credits cards on Venmo to buy stuff knowing the seller is the one who gets screwed when the cc company pulls back the money

similar topic
was cleaning out the shed on the property - pretty good size filled with junk, maybe 300 square feet so its sizeable, anyways I find some stuff, one thing being this old vase thing filled with seashells. It was in pretty good shape so I asked the wife to put it on ebay thinking maybe we'd get $15 dollars for it
it still has 4 days to go on the auction and the bidding is currently at $222.50. I have no idea what is going on with this thing. I hope I'm not getting scammed
