@willbrinson
If McAdoo paper was the proverbial straw, then @PackPride got Butch fired. Truly astounding from a media standpoint.

@d1scourse
In the end, North Carolina got 3.1 wins per major violation out of Butch Davis.

I agree, augie. Pittman was promoted by Butch, not the school (although it probably had to clear channels; it's still a football decision). I'm not sure if they find an asst. coach or if they've already got one in mind. looks like the whole dept. has their head up their ass if they're just now figuring Butch is a bad coach

they think Bitch is a great coach, their just now figuring out that they can no longer hide how big of a crook he is and they're trying to lessen ncaa penalties, and keep the ncaa from sniffing around basketball. but now bitch may be pissed off and I guarantee bitch can sink the bball program.

The Board of Trustee members serve four year terms staggered to begin and end on odd years. The members that went off this year included some of Butch's biggest supporters. The new members weren't as inclined to support Butch. They met for the first time today, and they went into closed session. They then told Holden Thorpe that he was to fire Butch or that they would fire both Butch and Thorpe. I think Baddour was lumped in with Butch as well because rumors are swirling that he will retire tomorrow as well, which isn't that big of a deal since he was going to step aside at the end of his contract in June.

'State fans are slightly conflicted."

The only "conflict" State fans are feeling is whether they are happier today about Butch or when bin Laden was killed. Tough choice for most of them, very much including Auggie...

typical state fan garble, can't enjoy a little victory without trying to set yourself up for more disappointment in the future.

are you going to Furthur in Raleigh?

If it's actually true that freaking Pack Pride had any bearing on things, I rescind my previous statement.

McAdoo's paper had nothing to do with this. The changing of the guard on the BOT was the cause.

I didnt say butch would sink bball, I said he could sink bball. 90% of your basketball players took the same Swahili class that mcadoo submitted the plagiarized paper to. do you really believe football players were getting a pass, but bball players weren't?

no I'm not doing furthur.

A day or so late, but here I am on Youtube. Fifes and drums jam for all to hear. I'm in the bright blue shirt right in front.

In the words of the great AA, "Gentlemen, UNC is in trouble."

So Baddour is finally getting fired. I guess in his vegetative state, Dean can't sense the fellatio acts anymore...

He's resigning/retiring. He was set to retire at the expiration of his contract in June 2012, but this sped up the process. He was asked to be the hatchet man on Butch, but Baddour said no. He stood up for Butch. Now, they're both gone.

Say what you want about Baddour's decisions with regards to NasCarl, BTB and Doh, but the man gave his professional life to the University and loved it dearly. His tenure as AD was obviously marred by the early hiring debacles, but the AD as a whole improved under his watch. He also got the UNC AD out of the deep red ink it was in when he took the job. In the end, he is being forced out because he had a spine and stood up for one of his employees, which is what so many had accused him of lacking over the years.

He wasn't "fired." He's going to resign/retire in the near future.

Just now...

Baddour will serve out his contract until June but will step aside as AD. He will still be involved with the University's dealings with the NCAA.

If you're not scared of some craziness and off-the-wall comments, Mike Leach could win at UNC.

I agree with you, AA, but this is a move by the academics to kill football. They would not hire Leach.

Also, some reporter just asked if they would be bringing in John Bunting to be the interim coach. lmao

keep your mitts off Leach, he is going to be UK's next coach once we get rid of Joker
