I think they are sending it to the grand jury as a cya move. I know they said in the past that would not happen, but situations change.

It's possible, and in that case he'll be charged ("a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich").
However, it looks like it's going to be a he-said/she-said completely. The strong rumors are that they had been seeing each other for weeks/months before the night in question, which directly contradicts her recount of an unknown attacker. These rumors are apparently backed up by social media, which is why she deleted all her accounts a couple of weeks ago. She was part of a twitter group called "cleat chasers", girls who chased baseball players (he is and was a baseball player). There are Twitter archival sites where you can find things she tweeted like, "I love Winston!", pictures of her going to the games this fall, talking about how great our QB is, etc. In addition, he has already submitted two affidavits supporting his version of the events, one of them is rumored to be from her best friend and roommate. The best friend/roommate is supposedly vacationing in Europe right now which could be another reason why the SAO has indicated it will be a while.
The complainant's aunt/attorney has been running around making claims of a cover-up, but the TPD released a timeline today that directly contradicts many of her statements. Bottom line - if it can be proved that she had contact with him before and (especially) after the night in question, it further destroys her credibility. If, God forbid, he DID do something heinous that night, she has screwed up so many times that it will be hard to convince a jury that "ok NOW I'm telling the truth".
I feel for her somewhat, because it appears she really wanted to let the whole thing drop, but once her aunt/attorney got involved it wasn't going to happen.

It also depends on how they present it to the grand jury. It doesn't happen everyday, but it's not uncommon for DA's/SA's/Solicitors to send stuff to the grand jury and make damn sure that all of the crappy contradictory stuff is included so that their asses will be covered by the grand jury shooting it down.

I'm thinking Missouri - Auburn just cannot be that lucky three games in a row even though they are good; they just can't be that lucky...and MSU should be able to outscore Meyer's thugs

When people whine about FSU's schedule (which wasn't great but the ACC held its own against the mighty SEC this year), remind them of this. There is a very real possibility that every offensive and defensive starter on this team could be drafted. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
I'm not sure if that's even true for Bama this year and definitely not true for any of the mid major Boise-type whiners over the last few years.
This team is very, very good. If it dominates its next two game like it has been, will it be considered in the "all time" discussion?

this is the nightmare scenario for the SEC. they (in the SEC) have been saying (for decades) how much better the SEC was, than the rest of college football. this is their irrational argument that any SEC champion should automatically play for the MNC, fuck everyone else.
if a newbie team from another conference (a conference that Texas had to steal from to keep from being blown up 4 years ago) comes along, and in just its second year WINS THE SEC OUTRIGHT then maybe the SEC was not quite as good as SEC fans were making it out to be?

Don't count your chickens...
Just do something that VPI, UNC, and Wake Forest weren't able to do FIRST, that is, beat Duke. First beat Duke on Saturday. Then get back to me on the "all time" discussion.

There is definitely a lot of work to be done, and I'll be very happy just to make it to the MNC game. I have a lot of respect for Cutcliffe and they have some good players but there's about a 1% chance that they'll beat us. We'll have to shoot ourselves in the foot many times over for that to happen, but this team really seems special and I don't see that happening. Maybe the weather will equalize some of our advantage...
VPI is a decent (not great) team, but comparing FSU to UNC and Wake Forest is laughable.

The State Attorney's Office announces their decision tomorrow at 2pm.
Rumor has it that Willie Meggs will have handcuffs on one side of the podium, and a crystal football on the other.
