They keep forgetting that Mitt never loses debates, ever.
public perception or actual professional grading?

I just don't see the Christian Right who make up a high percentage of the tea-party being enthusiastic about Romney. They don't think Obama is a Christian, but they also don't think Romney (or any other mormon) is a Christian.

I'm quite sure this is the first time statistics have ever been used to lie.

Did you see how they scored the GOP debates in 2008? Whenever Romney talked, people liked what he had to say because he spoke truth to power. The people understood him. There was no BS there, no rhetoric. His scoring chart from the public went off the chart, right to the top. When McCain talked it was always "My friends .... this and my friends .... that." It was all rhetoric from a man who didn't know shit from shine-ola.

Mitt would crush this field in a debate. And he would crush the President. This is what happens when you know exactly what you are talking about....

They are not going to have a choice after February of 2012.

presuming they prevent a third party run by a tea-party candidate.

Romney will have to consider to add someone as the VP that will excite the tea-party (he surely doesn't), but he has to be careful not to mess up with a firebomber. Independents voted for Dems and Obama in 2008. They stayed home or voted for Pubs in 2010. They tend not to like bomb-throwers but that's who the teaparty folks want. He name a Bachmann or someone similar, bad move. He doesn't name a tea-party favorite, stronger chance for a third party run.

Ron Paul will be fascinating.

Here's the thing, all Romney has ever done is talk UP the "Tea Party" and Sarah Palin. He has never said anything bad about them, not once. Now maybe the Tea Party does not like Mitt Romney. I'll buy that. Problem is, Mitt Romney likes the Tea Party. And eventually they will come around.

Ron Paul is not qualified to be President. Any man that ignorant of Islam, is disqualified to run on the GOP ticket for President. He should run as a Democrat.

If I had to guess, Romney will either pick Paul Ryan, Nikki Haley, Mark Rubio, or Gen David Patreus to be his running mate. The Veep will be at least 10 years younger than Romney.

doesn't matter. The tea-party masses generally don't like him, they don't trust him. I think he'll win the nomination by default, but I think a lot of the teaparty will think of him the way they thought of John McCain.

"Your actions speak so loud, that I can't hear what you say."

Romney's actions are Massachusetts.

How is Ron Paul ignorant of Islam?

If Mitt Romney asked him in a debate, point blank, "Congressman Paul, what is the Islamic Caliphate and why are our troops currently in Afghanistan and Iraq?" Do you have any idea what Ron Paul is going to say?

He is going to say "...Well we should just get OUT of Afghanistan and Iraq" and then a tiny subset of the audience will start hooting and hollering, yea Ron Paul! And the rest of the audience will know the man is a damn fool who can't answer simple questions. He should not be allowed anywhere near the White House. Stay a Congressmen.

Ron Paul knows nothing about Islam. Nothing. He is not the least bit interested in learning about those who follow that religion fundamentally (those who mean us harm) because that knowledge is not something that he bothers to worry about. Islam does not even EXIST for Ron Paul. He is therefore disqualified for being the GOP nominee for President.

Romney said it best about his role as Governor of Massachusetts:
Mitt Romney wrote:My vetoes count for nothing.
That is what the Tea Party will learn by February.

Although I don't like Romney and do indeed think of him as a RINO just like McCain his health plan doesn't take opramacare of the table.

A state mandate is completely different than a federal mandate. A federal mandate is unconstitutional, a state mandate depends on the constitution of each state. Huge difference.

Oh we closed on our new house yesterday. I'm glad some dude built a nice house in the middle of nowhere so that it would sit around long enough for him to drop the price to what I would be willing to pay LOL.

That worked for us too. Of course, we were dealing with a bank. The "dude" who built the house walked away years ago...

Tiger, lets get this straight.

I do NOT want another 4 years of President Obama. Keep your eyes on the prize. Romney can get the Reagan Democrats (that voted for Obama in '08) to vote for him.

There are very few Reagan Democrats. They for the most part became Republican. There are a lot more independents now though.

As for Romney and the tea party: let's see, Romney is

pro - abortion rights = check
pro - gay rights = check
pro - individual mandate = check

(at least that's what he said when he ran for the Senate)
