I feel like we are truly at home now in the SEC...
"NCAA violations??? Ha, well fuck you! Our soon to be cross division rival is doing the same shit! Lets drag them down too!"

It's a pandora's box. Best to let this sleeping dog lie.
And it isn't just SEC. If a team has a following and a current star, you can find a mass of signed "memorabilia" on eBay and other auction sites and retailers.

I said the same thing about powder puff classes that all football players at all major schools get access to, but Auggie won't let that sleeping dog lie...

Y'all are the ones that keep drawing attention to yourselves. Did I make PJ get busted with weed and a gun in a car rented for him by a felon? No I did not. Accept responsibility for your actions and their consequences.

Bruce Feldman writes that cease and desist actions related to Manziel family trademark of "Johnny Football" is the cause of a rift between Manziel and memorabilia dealers.

Jay Bilas just shames the NCAA.
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/0 ... annon.html
I actually think the NCAA has a more than 50% chance of losing this O'Bannon case. If that happens, I think that will be the trigger for the big conferences to take over.

Bilas was on Mike and Mike this morning. Golic tried to make some argument about how much better athletes had it than the average student so they shouldn't expect anything else, Bilas rebutted him and literally called his argument "stupid"...

Bilas offered a sly idea, he said every SEC football player should do something "illegal" (according to the NCAA, anyway) right before the first game and see if the NCAA calls off the games. Force their hand...

its just a matter of time before the SEC ignores the NCAA altogether. The NCAA needs the athletes more than they need the NCAA

make sure it's the superstar. Even in the SEC, big name and back-up, then big name reprimanded, back-up suspended. It's the power of the more important person to the NCAA (cue NC State and UNC)

Even that doesnt work. The NCAA punished USC over Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo, one of the biggest programs in the country and two very popular athletes. Shit no one knows what the NCAA will or wont do. There's no rhyme or reason at all any more.

That's because they didn't have lesser athletes there to hang their hat on.

I guess that's a drawback to only having 5 star athletes on your team. What they should have done was get a scrub from one of the local community colleges to hang out with Reggie and O.J. so that if anything did go down they would have a fall guy.
