"Interesting that Pitino just said he needs Kentucky to play their B game and for his guys to play their A+ game in order for Louisville to advance"
I'd say that's pretty accurate, and it might even be wishful thinking on his part when he says UK needs to play their B game. I'd lean more towards B- or C+...

we're fouling UL on every shot it seems, if the refs start tightening it up we're going to get into trouble.

UK winning by 10 with absolutely no contribution from Gilcrest. That ought to tell you something...

I wonder what the reaction would be if Barnes put up a line like MKG

Louisville is doing what they wanted to do with UK. I'm hoping its not going to be enough. Doron Lamb isn't in this game mentally.

no doubt, I'm just surprised he said it. although his team was already dressed so they will not have heard about until after the fact

the frequency of the timeouts is probably keeping out backcourt rested enough to keep fighting the press.

Louisville pulled into a tie bc Siva finally got going, but then his teammates decided they'd each try to be the hero themselves for a stretch there instead and they blew it.
reminded me down the backstretch a bit of the unc-ohio game, and you see that pattern a lot. one team is the underdog and has been behind most of the way, in a huge pressure-packed tourney game, when they finally make a late run and get the chance to go ahead their guys start doing mindless things in almost a panicked effort to try to get that go-ahead bucket. when you see that happen several trips in a row, and the favorite finally retakes the lead, the dog is usually shot at that point...

The kind of game I expected. That air ball 3 took out Louisvilles last gasp.

Well, Louisville wasn't really expected to be there, a #4 seed playing the prohibitive favorite, they hung around and made it interesting, didn't get embarrassed. I'm sure none of the players or coaches would say so, but that's about as good as anybody could've reasonably expected them to do. If they had won, it would've been a huge upset. It wouldn't have been amongst the biggest upsets in tourny history by any means, but it would've been a major stunner. Either OSU or KU should be a stiffer test, but I doubt Gilcrest is going to get into the same kind of foul trouble two games in a row. Jones wasn't much of a factor, either. If one of those guys gets it cranked up, which you have to figure they will, UK should win fairly easily...

I'm not even sure what I watched. You want to say that Louisville played a shitty game but they gave our guys fits. I can't remember a team as offensively challenged as UL still making a game of it. Talk about overachieving.
