I'm late on this, but here is a big glass of whine from fatboy after LA landed D12:

re - They foreshadowed the ridiculousness of this deal when they were handed Pau Gasol for a Filet-o-Fish sandwich and a diet soft drink to be named later

but still some think it was a fair trade : )

and always will, in the absence of a better proposed trade.

"Snoop Lion" is sort of correct on the final point he made, Kobe did help get the Nash deal through. However, that was the first time in ages the Lakers made a big roster move and included him.

Mitch Kupchak: super genius!

"Well that didn’t take long.

It was well-known that Andrew Bynum traveled to Germany earlier in the month to receive the same type of revolutionary treatment that Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez have pioneered in recent years on both of the center’s knees.

After being cleared to play in Sixers camp last week, word just hit that Bynum is now going to be out for three weeks. The team said today that Bynum had a bone bruise on his right knee and the rest is just a precaution. He will continue to participate in low-impact conditioning drills, but still this isn’t really a great sign, especially since just last week everything “felt very good.”

Drew will be fine. I hope he dominates in the East.

Thing is - Metta is actually in shape coming into camp for the first time in years. He looks like he's 24 again.

Oh, and attention haters: http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/stor ... les-lakers
A source who witnessed Howard at the portion of practice that was closed to the media described Howard's level of play to ESPNLosAngeles.com as "unbelievable."

"He was dunking everything in sight," the source said. "He looks like he can play in an NBA game today."

But can he hit a 5 foot shot?

Why would you need to hit a 5 foot shot if you can just dunk it on pretty much anybody?

You work on your weaknesses. His weakness has always been his post moves. Working on dunking in practice seems to be a waste of time.

Dayum Dwight

Looks like the last year of being dragged thru the mud has hardened him up a bit, no more mr nice guy.

Nothing he said in that interview was wrong either.

Ironically enough, if Shaq's comments light a fire under Howard, then Shaq will have done his part in helping him...

Found a couple other ones: https://twitter.com/ArashMarkazi
Kobe Bryant: "I almost won an MVP with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown on my team."
Kobe Bryant: "I was shooting 45 times a game. What was I supposed to do? Pass it into Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown?"
Kobe on Jodie Meeks competing for time in camp: "That's not fair. Jodie has to guard me every day in practice so he ain't looking too good."
More Kobe on Meeks: "I've been murdering that dude. I've been kicking his a--. I've been torching that MFer."
Kobe actually loves Meeks and was looking for him to confirm his stories that he was torching him in practice.

Yes, it's getting close to go time.

I keep having this urge to suggest that Gasol jack up a ton of threes this year because "It stretches the defense."

Somewhere, Amar is laughing.
