Today was most satisfying, to be sure, but the results today have a downside for me. There is now a reasonable chance Michigan and VT will face off in the Orange Bowl. I suppose I would have to attend such a game, but I don't exactly know what I'd do.

Michigan came within three yards of what would have been the worst loss in Michigan football history. This was a classic case of letting an underdog hang around long enough to get confident. Michigan's offense threw away chance after chance to put Akron away early, and Michigan's defense nearly gave it away late. There's no excuse or justification for this one-- Michigan came out overconfident and lazy, and probably should have paid full price for it.
