Dad told me about an exchange he had with his mother when he told her he was putting a wood burning stove in our house and offered to do it for her in the living room or heater hall (and provide the wood) so she could have wood heat like the “good old days.” Granny’s reply was essentially, “unlike you, I lived through the ‘good ole days,’ and I’m glad they’re over. They weren’t too good, and you’ll get tired of chopping and hauling wood soon enough. I’ll keep my gas heat and heat pump.”

yea, he had a pretty good setup, he'd go over to her place for 2 days and come home smelling like corn chips, then work , play video games and hang out with his friends for the rest of the week, then do it again

I think she got fed up just being a 2 day week dick receptor with a plate of thai food throw in for good measure and told him to take a hike

When he was like eh, whatever, then she decided that maybe a thai dinner and fucking once a week wasn't so bad afterall

I am ambivalent to it at this point. He isn't going to move in with her much less marry her and he keeps his distance so that they aren't together every free moment he has.

I guess this can go on until she gets tired of it again, which she will, because he ain't changin. This boy is as predictable as sunup.
