Pippen/Dominique hybrid, at best.

is that not what Lebron is with a little Mailman thrown in there

Not sure anyone has hurt their draft stock more than H. Barnes has in this tournament. Without K. Marshall he looks incredibly ordinary
got to agree, at this stage he shouldn't have to rely on Marshall to get off. He should be demanding the ball & flat out taking over. Like Hedge said, I like his initial moves but he finishes weak, someone always gets a hand on it , knocks the ball loose & that miss dunk/layup point blank at the rim was egregious

Beal has that smooth ray allen type game going

Davis is not that skilled on O,

It is a lot like the KD v. Oden

the NBA is not a big man league anymore anyways it is a SF SG league

Wade, James, Kobe, KD, and even Dirk really more of SF than PF on O are the most dominate players in the game

Barnes and a lot of UNS players need to get stronger with the ball, Henson, Zeller, Bullock all need stronger hands

No. He's better, by a mile (except in NBA Finals).

Tell us something we don't know, Chad. He didn't play up to anything close to his potential until Marshall started last year. He played like shit without Marshall this year.

Barnes came back thinking that he was just going to walk onto the court, put up twenty points per night, grab five rebounds and record an assist and steal or two. He was nothing close to that. He needs to work on his ball handling and finishing.

He needs to come back, but he needs to come back with a different attitude. He was too focused on himself.

I am more worried about Henson, McAdoo and Marshall though. If they come back, we will be a contender. If they don't come back, we will be a borderline tournament team.

So who comes back next season? Barnes and Henson are gone for sure, Marshall and McAdoo are probably likely gone too.

So does Marcus Paige play PG next season? The transfer Luke Davis will be his backup. Strickland and McDonald will play the 2. Who plays the 3? I would think Bullock and Hairston. I don't know who plays the post with Henson and Zeller gone. I think there's a post player coming in. I hope McAdoo comes back because there won't be much scoring in the post. UNC will be playing a lot of small ball next season.

Los!

I love Gilchrist. No one has more heart or dedication the team. That said, he finishes around the basket great, but I'm not sure how well that will translate in the NBA.
I think he'll be a very good NBA player but I believe he is going to have to adjust his game from what he excels at in College.

thats my .02

I havent seen anywhere whereMcAdoo is projected even as a 2nd rounder, he goes back to school for sure

"Like Hedge said, I like his initial moves but he finishes weak, someone always gets a hand on it , knocks the ball loose & that miss dunk/layup point blank at the rim was egregious"

I don't recall saying I liked his initial moves, most of the time they are telegraphed and clunky, which may play a role in why he can't finish. But I agree with everything else you said. Bottom line is, Barnes is a good, not great player. I shouldn't be ragging on him so hard, it's due to the vast discrepancy b/w his reputation/hype and his performance. If he was some unhyped player who came in and performed like he has, I would probably feel differently, which makes very little sense, I admit. But it is what it is. Based on expectations for this season, Barnes was a disappointment. Not a huge disappointment (he obviously wasn't a complete bust or any kind of bust), but a disappointment nonetheless. I suspect he feels the same way. If he doesn't, he's definitely not as driven as he's made out to be. He may end up doing pretty well in the NBA. Obviously any starting guard in the NBA should be able to find the open man, and if he can get open, he should end up being a decent spot up shooter, esp. with his height. But anybody who thinks he's going to be able to create his own shot or take it to the rim and finish against NBA caliber post players is deluded. I doubt many NBA scouts are deluded in that regard, however...

I really wanted a UK/UNC title game, with a healthy Kendall Marshall.

That would have been a blast

We're going to be a very different team next year, and potentially a fun one to watch, esp. if Marshall comes back. We'll be a 3 point shooting team next year, certainly won't have the horses in the post to play the inside/out style we've been able to do the past 5 or 6 years. Marshall, Stickland, Leslie, Hairston and Bullock should provide us with plenty of outside firepower. I know Hairston struggled at times this season, but he's a player. Marshall's outside shooting improved alot in the second half of the season, with more reps I suspect he'll improve even more. I doubt we'll win the rebounding battle in most games, but we certainly won't have a shortage of shooters...

I don't want UK to face baby Zeller next year if we don't have Nerlins

I think so too. Shit happens, though. Not that I ever want to see a player injured, but losing Marshall definitely had me hoping that Davis wasn't hurt when he went down wrong on that play. I'm glad he wasn't. And I disagree with goldie, Davis is going to be very good in the league. I can easily see him being a Rasheed Wallace level player, if not better. Wallace never put up gaudy stats, but he was a great NBA player and I think Davis will be, too...

"Kidd Gilchrist will be the best NBA player on UK, Davis up side is Camby"

Davis will be at least as good a rebounder as Camby, whose career rebounding average is 10 (and closer to 12 in his prime) and probably better. And he'll be a better scorer than Camby...
