I binged watched the first season of True Detective, took me 3 days but it makes a whole lot more sense the second time around. All the pieces come together. I'm sure its also the value of seeing it the second time around.
I've only watched one episode of the second season. And entire episode dedicated to character introductions and it sucked.

Season 2 is shit and, where it's not dull, obvious.
Cary Fukunaga getting pushed off the show didn't help.

Season 2 is fine. I enjoyed it because it doesn't give you a happy and fuzzy ending.

The ending was telegraphed and the pacing is waaay off. I only watched as long as I did out of respect for Season 1.
