76 when we're away
73 when we're home
70 when we're asleep. 70 is lower than we would normally have it, but we currently have a bedroom ceiling fan that isnt working

my summer project. I mentioned this truck before but I'm getting started on it now.

I bought this 2 winters ago, a $1200 theft recovery before car prices got crazy. 1998 Toyota T100 SR5 4X4. It has 105K on it which it nothing for a Toyota with the 3.4L motor. It was missing the exhaust, the drive shaft, the front quarter panel was crumpled and the driver side door was a mess from them breaking the window when it was stolen. I replaced all that to make it driveable, along with a bad power steering pump and the alternator. I also went to the scrap yard and got a set of tires from a Tundra and put on it. I still need to go thru the brakes and put in some new lines.

Yesterday I took the bed off which is one of the trouble spots , its was beat up and rusty, so I'm going to put a wooden bed on it later on. Next weekend I'll mig weld a couple of patches i the frame where there are rust spots. That will be a first for me.

I'm going to sand the frame down and put a few coats of POR-15 on it (rust preventative), sand the body and give it a new paint job, and then put some finishing touches on the interior. I'll probably put about $2000 into it when all is said and done. After that I could probably sell it for $6K but I think I'm so attached to it, I'm just going to hang on to it.

Shouldn't the back tires be further back than that?

I rolled the window down on my truck yesterday, the other Toyota that I daily drive and it got stuck down.

turns out the window regulator jammed up and it wasn't a big deal to fix but I had to take the door panel off, and while the door panel was off I noticed the cheap ass factory speaker they put in it, so while I had it off, I decided to replace it with a component set of speakers I snagged at best buy, and since I was taking the front panels off, I might as well take the rear panels off and put in some subwoofers in the back, so well..that's what I did.

Its stupid loud now and the whole thing shakes when I turn it up. It would be a 17 year olds dream truck (if a 17 actually wanted a truck).

I've been fucking around with it all morning. I did it right though, solder the wiring, put in crossovers and it looks factory.

I don't know, while it does nothing in terms of productivity, I didn't do shit last summer and this summer I'm determined to do as many projects as I can.

My wife knew I was doing something with the truck but hasn't heard it yet. We're going to go shopping as soon as her sister stops telling her how bad her marriage is and gets off the phone, and I'll make her cringe while we are at a stop light.
