I remember the 1988 church bus crash on I-71 outside of Carrolton.

I'd never heard of this school bus crash before.

Larry Mahoney was the guy driving drunk going the wrong way on Interstate 71... He spent several years at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex here in town before being paroled. A good friend of mine who retired from the EKCC said he knew Mahoney and talked to him often. Said he was withdrawn and extremely devistated at what he had done. Said he didn't mingle with the other prisoners but kept to himself.

yea I remember he declined parole (not sure he would have got it) but said he didn't deserve it. I've also heard there were some self serving reasons why he declined it but there have been several people over the years say he was a decent guy that made a horrible mistake.

I remember seeing the news when he was released from prison. He spent alot of time in the weight room

I think that's what you do if you don't want to spend a lot of time on your knees in the shower.

She must have been really drunk.

I do agree with the blonde chick that they should make Chik-Filet open on Sundays.

if you think that chicken sandwich you ordered at Subway did not fully taste like fowl, you may have been right.

According to a Canadian study, a DNA test showed only half of Subway’s oven-roasted patty is made with real chicken.

Subway was among five fast-food restaurants whose chicken the Canadian Broadcast Corporation had tested.

The results showed the Oven Roasted Chicken patties averaged 53.6 percent chicken DNA while the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki strips came in at 42.8 percent.

The sandwich chain refuted the results of the DNA test in a released statement:

“SUBWAY Canada cannot confirm the veracity of the results of the lab testing you had conducted. However, we are concerned by the alleged findings you cite with respect to the proportion of soy content. Our chicken strips and oven roasted chicken contain 1% or less of soy protein. We use this ingredient in these products as a means to help stabilize the texture and moisture. All of our chicken items are made from 100% white meat chicken which is marinated, oven roasted and grilled. We tested our chicken products recently for nutritional and quality attributes and found it met our food quality standards. We will look into this again with our supplier to ensure that the chicken is meeting the high standard we set for all of our menu items and ingredients.”

In case you wondered what the rest of the patties and chicken strips are made of: It’s soy.

The same test was done on the chicken Wendy’s and McDonald’s serve.

Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich averaged 88.5 percent chicken, while McDonald’s Grilled Country Chicken averaged 84.9 percent, according to the finding

Yeah, saw where you guys were having severe weather yesterday.. here also.. winds over 60 mph yesterday morning. Never took weather warning seriously until after the tornado hit 5 years ago. Now get a little nervous when they are predicting severe weather.

I had a tree fall in my backyard and take out my fence.

I'm surrounded by mature trees with heavy limbs. Its just a matter of time before one crashes thru my roof.

Matter of fact, I've been holding off putting a new roof on the house, counting on it to happen.

"I'm surrounded by mature trees with heavy limbs."

That's just more opportunity for you to impress the boy by hoisting the fallen limbs over your shoulder and carrying them to the curb...
