Professor Tiger wrote:Mike Dyer is suspended from the team for the CFA Bowl, and it sounds like he's transferring. I'll miss him. His run late in the BCGCG that put us in winning field goal range was one for the ages.
But RB is probably the deepest position on the team. We still have O-Mack, Grant, Blakely, and - incoming - Williams and Yeldon. Judging from his senior season and Alabama-Mississippi All Star Game performance, Yeldon will probably start sometime next year. He is a beast.
GBJs wrote:Prof, don't count on Yeldon too quickly. Saban hasn't let go of him on the recruiting trail, and we have nicer clothing shops in Tuscaloosa.
Professor Tiger wrote:The Saban had better pull out all the stops soon. TJ enrolls at Auburn January 9.

About all I've seen regarding Dyer's transferring is speculation. Any reason's why?

I knew we were in trouble when Peaches adopted Yeldon.
The only good side to this is he will get lost in the dozen or so other great backs at Alabama. He will be a great one by his senior year.

I also knew we were in trouble with Yeldon when Rivals bumped him up to 5 stars a couple of days ago. That always happens when a player commits to Alabama.
He will make an excellent backup safety and special teams player for the next three years.

I dunno...remember we're thin at RB...
I assume Trent is going pro, which only leaves Lacy, Fowler, Hart, who will be a RS freshman coming back from knee surgery, Blake Sims, Peaches boy, and Yeldon. That's about all we can really call RBs at the Capstone.

Your situation at RB is truly desperate.

With the exception of Lacy, they're young and un-proven. He's had duty as the fill in, Fowler spot duty during the season. But he is a hoss.

The only thing saving us in recruiting right now is the new signing limit. That is, unless:
1.The signing limts don't apply to Saban, or...
2. Saban preemptively medically redshirts the handful of three-star players in this current class before they even arrive on campus.

UA is not in the three-star business. We'll be using any former 3-star athletes remaining after this season for tackling dummies.

I wish Tater Tot well in Akron. That school is commensurate with his skills. He will discover that the winters here in the upper midwest well and truly suck. At least there are plenty all you can eat buffets.

Better have bee a great pay raise. Be honest...ya think Akron can afford to pay enough to leave UNA and live in the cold? They're probably not that much better whether they're D 1 or not.

The first thing he needs to buy with his first paycheck is a snowblower. That thing is an absolute necessity.
